Hi Users.
I normally program in C for the Nintendo DS. I downloaded this app for my son to learn how to program but I had a go at it as well so I could help teach him.
I have found that the structure of the games is similar to how I program in C for the DS. If anyone is interested in having their finished game ported to DS to run on a Flash Cartridge like the R4 let me know and we can discuss.

This would be awesome with the touch screen...
But I don't really want to convert it - my DS is broken. >.>

That sounds awesome. Are you a professional?

I am no professional but as the games on here are fairly simple, porting them will be no problem. I am making a sample at present.
I am currently porting "The Beach" http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/floatingmagictree/904336 so you can see what can be done. I just picked one at random. If you do not have a DS to test the game you can test it in a DS emulator.
I just have to add the seagulls and the music and it will be finished.
You can download where I am up to here http://dsgamemaker.com/forum/download/file.php?id=5215
I suggest you use a DS emulator called NO$GBA to test it on the PC.

Oh that comes with the free version of DS Game Maker. I have the full version but to be honest, I haven't even opened it yet. If my Spade Boards game isn't too hard to convert, could you try your hand at it?

Yes it is alot of work for me but scratch code is easy to convert to DS.

Game looks good... Would be a bit hard to port when I don't understand the game.

Aren't R4's illegal? or are they the ones that have loads of games ready installed?

No, downloading ROMs of commercial games without paying first is illegal.

Interesting thread- but I don't think this belongs in Collaborations
Possibly:

Actually it's Requests. He's offering to translate Scratch Games into DS Games.
Also the rules of Spade Boards.. well you see I know the rules but it's a bit difficult to explain. You see, I had recently had a head injury and it was 3:00 AM when I came up with the rules, so... they turned out kind of really stupid.

Oh thanks, you're using my project.
So how do I port it to my DS?

You need a flash cart or something. I need a real DS before I can become an expert on the subject of DS's though.

Admins can move this thread to where ever they like.
I thought collaboration as I am working with you to make your game for the DS
.
Anyway, R4 and other flash cartridges are not illegal in most country's. They only become illegal when you use them to run Commercial ROMS but not when running homebrew as I am here.
@floatingmagictree if you want me to stop making your game for the DS just say so. I just picked one at random.
@Greenboi - thanks for the suggestion. Maze games are way too simple. If it had a good story line or something extra it would make a great port.
For those that do not have a DS or a flash cart. you can run my home brew in an emulator. Download from the bottom of this page. http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/gba/nocashgba.html

Ok, so where can i get hold of an R4 which is free of anything illegal? The ones of amazon aparently dont come with the right adaptor, is that what i need the flashcart for?

That would be pretty fun on a DS. I've already tried porting it - but no luck so far.
I have a flash cart and No$GBA.

I used to have an R4 - but then I lost it and got a TTDS. R4s are better though.
