Its not a virus its a trojan first off second to test the presence of the malware lets perform a test.
IF U ARE USING WINDOWS
Restart ur system and while its starting press "F8 or F5" till you get to the advanced windows boot menu from there select . DIRECTORY SERVICES REPAIR MODE . let the system boot if messages appear click on yes browse the internet( you will lose skins though) If everything is right u wont have the malware.

the problem could also be caused due to what we say BLIND installtions so u just might have installed something xtra with something    i hope your problem gets solved soon .

I already ran some of those things. And removed something called sr882388.exe, and the problem with the redirecting was fixed for a hr, but its back now.

Ah, you have a nasty one that reinstall itself.

Did you try running the programs in safe mode? This should stop them from reinstalling.

Also, not sure if it will help but run CCleaner after your scans. Make sure to use the ccleaner registry scanner.

Mine isn't as bad as yours though.

The proper term for this kind of adware is a browser hijacker, it takes control of your browsers and is a big pain. A virus is a piece of software that replicates itself and usually tries to damage the system.

Heres what you wanna do...

1. Install those programs I listed
2. Restart the computer and mash f5 or f8 until you get an option to go into safe mode
3. While in safe mode, run ad-aware first, then avg anti virus then restart
4. If that doesn't fix things then run hijack this and post your log here

AVG only detected 2 viruses. And nothing really changed. D:

Use Spybot Search & Destroy and a few others of the good free ones. I've never got a computer virus because I'm super careful when downloading stuff.    (other than the memory problems and over-heating graphics card...)

Norton Sometimes it's good to pay for quality ad service, i had AVG free when i first got this computer (that period lasted for a few hours, then my dad got me to put on the newest version of Norton Anti-virus. Iv not had any virus, and if something trys to hack me norto blocks it and tells me. Plus its a good way of finding out if you have a proper version of your OS, it wont work if you dont have an official version.
