The sun will become a red giant, swallowing up the inner planets including Earth. Of course before that happens, all humans will be long dead due to the increase in heat as the sun gradually gets larger.

my most legit apocalypse idea is that humans will consume the earth, hopefully by then we will have the technology to travel to another planet, but for the sake of other planets, hopefully not...

though the true moment when earth will really be destroyed is in a longggg time as the sun slowly creeps toward it's next stage as a "red giant", in the process earth and other planets will be consumed by the sun, and before then earth will be inhabital due to that the safe zone for temperatures related to our distance to the sun is slowly shifting, there is a very high quality video done up on this (probably by BBC), but I don't know where

Unless we can use our future technology to "slingshot" earth farther away from the sun, so we maintain approximately the same heat and radiation levels.

But I really don't think it's going to end in any of our lifetimes - So why worry about it?

actually the strategy is to heat up mars by polluting it (increasing the atmosphere) and then we will move to it, if we plant enough trees and other plants we should be able to survive, though this will be quite a biological challenge

polluting it would probably have reprocussions in the end.  it's just karma, you pollute another planet to make it liveable then im sure something will go wrong.

Failure.

The "world" will never end until it is engulfed by the sun.  No matter what happens to the surface, no matter what happens to humans, the world is technically not affected.  All that happens to it by humans will be healed when humans are gone.  Personally, I think humanity will end either by a rise of a new dom'inant species or overpopulation, where we will consume all resources to the point where even renewable ones will be obliterated.

So... yeah.
