I emailed them and the scratch team said they were also working on a "Make your own block"! Thats my most anticipated update!!
That sounds great! I think we've had some confirmation that they would try making a "procedural" sort of block before, and it's great to have further confirmation.
If you don't mind, can you post the email here?

I got it off of the support page, but they also said that forum posts in the suggestion page is good too, so that other scratchers can agree or disagree with the suggestion. Helps them figure out what is the most wanted scratch feature.
Hope I could Help!

P.S. I was wondering, do you know anyone who makes sigs? I thought since you are a mod you'd get around the forum more than me. I made a flash one but it wouldn't embed as you can see below.

Thanks! I actually intended to ask if you could post the actual email you got that confirmed the "make your own block" feature
There's a great topic that Coka made which details the steps of creating a signature:
Here it is.

They never did say anything about a 1.5 or a filler, but I am guessing it will be the early beta of 2.0, which is why it is a good thing I signed up way back in the old days as a Scratch beta tester

Can I join?

Wait...if the new Scratch will be in Flash, then there will be no SmallTalk involved? I hope so. I personally find Flash/C-like/Python much easier than Squeak. That is if you'll still be able to make custom mods.

Me 16
lol. honest, but it will be cool flash = multiplayer javascript = no support for mutiplayer in other words
scratch is currantly javascript
if scratch was to make it flash or javascript option then you can have mutilplayer its not scratch which does not support mutiplayer its java!

I was hoping on 2.0 that they could add like a resize screen so say if you have got a game that needs like 100x100x (which isn't much) pixels then you could just like resize it or something.

Me seventeen
Also, I hope they have this block and this block!
I also hope the Scratch team make a converter so that you can change your game into an android or smartphone app or just a regular phone game. Also there should be a thing that lets you record a snippet of your project.

Really? That's gonna be awesome!

Really?
The only good things I can see from it are: Projects will work at my school, they'll work on phones, they might be faster, maybe VSG?
Ok nevermind. That's gonna be awesome.
Only the games which require no keyboard will maybe on phones. How can you play an arrow keys game on a phone? Especially touch screen ones with no buttons. It will be tremendously harder. >:

I have Scratch 1.4 of June 30th, 2009. Is this the most updated and best version? Or is it now obsolete?

I would like to see the flash version, and I may know why they decided it.
1. Java is slow. Flash is quicker.
2. Flash can do cloning better than Java.
3. The smoothing/sizing stuff will be solved
Scratch on!

This is what the Scratch Team said about Flash:
Scratch Team wrote:
Flash allows us to make Scratch available to as many people as possible without requiring them to install anything. Although we seriously considered several other technologies, Flash has the best combination of features, performance, and browser penetration right now.

There will most likely be some BYOB stuff in Scratch 2.0.
Maybe also Collapsable Scripts.
Both of these are from Scratch Suggestions.
