Me and my cousin are making an iPhone/iPod Touch application similar to Scratch. I was wondering what features do you want in it? Here are features that are going to be in it as of now:
Facebook integration
Twitter integration
OpenFeint integration
Multiple views with transitions
Transitions
Camera use
Menu Maker
Joypad
Accelerometer use
More types of variables
More powerful than scratch
New blocks
Possible text entry also
all blocks scratch has currently
and much much more.

Wow! That sounds really great, although I have no Iphone.
You should go looking around the suggestions section and research some good ideas there.
Btw did you make your site wrensation with "webs.com?"

Okay, but will it be compatable with scratch? If not, that's the most important thing.
Really, all you need to do to make scratch for the iphone is to get the isqueak vm for the iphone and make a edited scratch morph that supports dropdown block menus instead of the scrolling square selector, an open and save menu, and make it the res of the ipod's screen.(the ipad version will be easier when theres a squeak for it, because of the freedom with the screen size)
*EDIT* unless facebook and twitter integration are crucial and easy, make sure it works first, then add the cool stuff.
Tell me if you're using a squeak vm, or making a completely new program from scratch.(pun not intended)

No I didn't use webs.com to make it.
@cds56:
I am not going to use squeak to make it. I am going to create my own engine and use objective-c to create it. The facebook and twitter integration are easy to do. The thing is that it won't be compatible from scratch because of the lack of a keyboard that isn't virtual. It will use touches and other gestures for gameplay along with maybe an on screen joypad that you could use or a HUD like other games. All options. Maybe a block could activate them for use.

The virtual keyboard works fine on my uh pda for emulators, and scratch 1.4 there, so there shouldn't be much of a problem, the only thing is that my pda has arrow keys like a built in physical buttons. uh, virtual arrow-keys are the only thing missing from the keyboard I think

The keyboard takes up to much space in game. It would give you very little space to do anything else in the game.

It didn't on my pda( 240x320 resolution)
I am talking about the virtual keyboard of the iPhone/iPod Touch. It takes up half of the screen. It takes up too much room for it to display the whole time.

What I was about to say was ludicrous.
Some programs have the same issue that you're talking about, keyboard's too big, so they make the v-keyboard integrated, or custom designed for the program.
Which would work if your pda/iphone used a stylus, making it a simple matter of making buttons, or asking for someone else's code for one.
but since it doesn't use a stylus.......(lost train of thought)

The iphone keyboard will used very little only if someone needs to enter something. For other things, there will be options for showing a joypad or on screen controls to make it easier on the user programming it.

I have been looking around forever, I have a jailbroken iphone and was wondering how the heck to get the isqueak VM. Is there a cydia repo for it?

I am not sure if there is a cydia repo for it or not. But I do know is that Scratch for iPhone should never be programmed using such an outdated and weak programming language.

what's a cydia repo?
anyways, iSqueak is here:
http://isqueak.org/HomePage
TADA! although I don't know what it's potential is, It should work with a scratch image, or just plain squeak.

I don't want to use squeak or isqueak for the coding of it. Squeak is outdated and not very powerful and should have NEVER been used for the making of Scratch. By the time this app is done, it will be more powerful than scratch is and much much better. I probably won't call it iscratch because of the huge improvements I am going to have along with tons of new features.
@Louis2018:
I am not sure about price at this point, but it will be decently priced for what it is able to do. Look forward to it being 0.99 - 9.99. It will probably sit at about 2.99 when everything is said and done. Maybe more. Not sure.
@everyone:
Anyone have any ideas for names?

It's so interesting that your idea was posted DIRECTLY after mine, and is almost a complete copy of mine too.
