You can connect two Scratch programs that are on the same computer - you could test your project with that.
I took a look at the scripting and I don't think it works...

BYOB, 2 computers(or 1 if you use 2 BYOB programs), and the right scripts. The first 2 don't matter, they can be done easily, but the scripting is going to be a little more complex than that, though I have a basic layout in mind. A list that when a user types something, the sensor for the list tells the other program to add the text to the list. Maybe I should tray making that....

It works on my computer when i run 2 scratch programs-- I actually had to go to dinner and i could not keep my scratch open and host the mesh, which was the problem.
