Now...should I keep the name Xenotype?
So since 08jackt is leaving, I would like to remake a OS. Don't worry, Xenotype 8 will still be out. So, I need your opinion.
Should I keep the name Xenotype?
If yes:
Should I start from Xenotype 1 again, or should I just continue with Xenotype 9?
If no:
Help me choose a name, or give me suggestions.
Not a scratch survey, just need your opinion.

Go on with Xenotype, but this time try mixing it with some Ubuntu naming, eg. Xenotype Oval Owl
(Ubuntu names consist of an adjective and animal's name, alliterated)

Keep Xenotype.
Oh, and an Ubuntu name is, as filo5 explained, an alliterated animal appellation.
Previous ones have been Karmic Koala, Hardy Heron, Jaunty Jackalope, and more.

i'd call it
XenoNova
as in keeping xenotype and just making it sound newer and improved
nova could be replaced with anything.

It's a great name, and it wouldn't be the same without it... *sniff*
As for the a/b part, do whatever fits.
Xenotype 9 wouldn't be bad, but repetition is best avoided. 
Otherwise it gets boring...
