There's currently an alpha Ubuntu package of Scratch 1.3.1 available on our wiki page.

As you can see from the Known issues, there are some bugs.  As soon as Scratch 1.4 is released for Windows and Mac, we'll start working on the 1.4 package for Ubuntu. Once it is finished, it will be available on the page linked to above.

Any chance of an amd64 deb? Short of that, could you post a link to the 1.4 source code? Thanks!

UPDATE: I installed the i386 deb using dpkg --force architecture, and so far it seems to work. But of course it would be preferable to have an amd64 deb proper.

Re: Linux version (sort of) posted

I, as others have said, have it running fine in wine.

Glad this works well! I don't think an amd64 package is in the cards, sorry.  sad

We've just released another alpha debian package, but we're still having a lot of trouble with the Squeak alsa plugin, so this one falls back to using OSS. See Known Issues for more information:

being a .deb package, it should be installable also under debian via dpkg, isn't it ?

thank you
