Windows erase

on my old computer it was extremely slow because it wasn't meant to run vista. How do I erase windows vista off my old computer and load it up with ubuntu which is more simple to run on a computer?

Yeah. But guess what. That won't erase your Windows partition, won't make your new partition, and might cause errors overwriting the Windows partition which it will be forced to do.

Re: Windows erase

It won't? It worked fine for me. Also, back up your files first.

I said it might cause errors.

MIGHT.

And you shouldn't use a live cd, use the cd made for installing.

...if you don't format the partition properly.

Yeah. But the install CD is only for installing.

Re: Windows erase

no, i used a live cd for my computer. instead of partitioning, you choose to use the whole hard drive for it. its a listed option.

Then don't use Vista. Everyone knows it is the worst OS ever created.

Re: Windows erase

I just burned ubuntu image to a disk and booted it on the computer. I can run it from a disk or install it, I have been running it from a disk because I need to erase vista before installing it comletely. I can't install it until vista is gone because I have one giga byte left and installing ubuntu will destroy it. I MUST DESTROY VISTA OFF THE COMPUTER FOR GOOD!!!
