Odd (and Ironic) problem

I was making a project today, and as a joke, typed in as a sprite:

SYNTAX_ERROR

and then all of a sudden, the text went blank. And now, whenever I try to use the typing tool, it appears blank.

Help!!!!!

Crud. O_O I think there is a way to change the name. Or just delete the sprite.

Re: Odd (and Ironic) problem

It's just the "text glitch", and it happened just when you named the sprite SYNTAX_ERROR. XD

I think the text glitch happens when Scratch runs out of memory or something, maybe your project had too much stuff.

Re: Odd (and Ironic) problem

You're experiencing the "disappearing text glitch".

This has been happening to a lot of Scratchers lately and no one truly knows why. The Scratch Team is currently trying to fix it though.

Re: Odd (and Ironic) problem

Hmmm... very intriguing... It didn't actually work on my 1.3.
Which version of scratch are you using?
If you have the file, and can't use it, try opening in another version of scratch, or in chirp.
Or, you  can send me the file, to:
streakmail@gmail.com.
(note to mods: This email is already posted on the streak site, so all it'll do if you remove it is cause frustration. Besides, if I added it in the first place, don't you think I'd want it to stay there?)

Re: Odd (and Ironic) problem

they're right. It just happened to be a case of the text glitch happening when you renamed the sprite. I bet if you did it again, it wouldn't happen. The text glitch annoys the heck out of me, it happens a lot if you type too much in the paint editor for me.

Re: Odd (and Ironic) problem

Try it again. If it happens again, we might be able to fix it!

Re: Odd (and Ironic) problem

Change the name of the sprite and it should be fixed. I recommend switching back too Scratch 1.3 unless you like the new features of Scratch 1.4, because in 1.3 that glitch does not happen.

No, this is what I did:

and I guess it was a glitch, because it didn't just happen.

and i'm using 1.4
