Everything is still in very early stages. I would expect this to take a year at least!
Wow.
Well if you need a beta tester, then think of me...

Yeah, yeah let's just agree that we'd all like to beta test it.
If it is anything like last year, then attending scratch day 2010 may satisfy some of your beta ambitions...
But don't quote me on that, only the scratch team would know.

Seriously, if you need a beta-tester, consider me, i love scratch and want to try helping you guys in its development. Even though i have never been on the front page, i am a dedicated scratch user since 1.2.1!

One thought I just had: There are some areas of the globe which are embargoed from the use of flash. Would scratch 2.0 put them out in the cold?

...Really?
I suppose it would. But why are places embargoed from using flash anyways? :S

Blocked? That sound about right...
Countries like China block certain Google searches, so I suppose Flash may be blocked as well...

Search "democracy" and you will be taken away by the police.

The United States embargo on export to Cuba also applies to software.
That is the only example I know of... however, I am almost sure that there are others.

That's not a dimwitted question...
An embargo is simply one country saying that it will refuse to trade with another...
This also applies to software; so american made Flash player cannot be legally exported to cuba.

A few questions:
1. Will Scratch 2.0 have the fabled "open web page [ ]" block?
2. Will Scratch 2.0 have the equally fabled "show list { v}" and "hide list { v}" blocks?
3. Will Mesh have its much-deserved official release?
4. Will there be any major changes other than Internet capability?
And a few requests:
1. Can the Scratch Team send a message to all users on the day of the official release?
2. Can the Scratch Team post the release date on the site prior to the release?
3. Can the Scratch Team release 1.4.2 with the show/hide list blocks?

I like all of those requests, but why 1.4.2? and not 1.4.1?
