sounds interesting... secratch 2.4 isnt so far away as thought! Maybe .nds or even wii or exbox might be a good idea.. hint hint. I suppose it would be very hard to make it on consoles but for now its great!

Stupid idea (no offence).

NDS games you can make are accompilshed with C and C++ with PAlib.
Wii games are done with DevkitPro.
Simplified programs as such are DS Game Maker or Wii Game Studio.
"exbox", or Xbox 360 games can be made but you will have to certainly "chip" your Xbox and get a banned Xbox live account for life.

Scratch  was made with a powerful tool, most certainly not VB.NET. If I believe, it makes JavaScript games and what the user is actually coding is C/C++.

Scratch offers a limited supply for the language itself, and can be much greatly improved.

Now I am not some "wannabe" kid who thinks what they are talking about but when really it is garbage that is coming out their mouth.

My public thought of the reality upcoming events of Scratch is clueless.  More tools would be needed to construct such 'great' games, and Flash support could be added.

Each block of code that is input is a line of real "hardcore" code.

The "If" block is really " if (  event ) { " in the C code, and the rest apply within.
As a previous owner of Scratch, I am really proud of the MIT Lab for producing such a tool for adults and kids alike.

yeah i guess consoles wouldnt be that good.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: Scratch 2.0

By the way - you guys should add netplay support to the new scratch. A block that tells the client's username, advanced blocks to connect to/host servers and get variables from multiple clients etc.

It appears like they are probably going to add online features and what not, due to the surge of Mesh games out now...

yes what i would like is a database so i could make a chat room or mmorpg etc. etc. that could relay info from scratch project to project or just from different people using that program.

Re: Scratch 2.0

Hey Andrés,

If you are online right now (I know you are  tongue ) if possible I would just like a quick "news report" of Scratch 2.0's progress at this point, even if it is still VERY early, and maybe to help clear up some confusion about certain things. Thanks!  big_smile

Everything is still in very early stages. I would expect this to take a year at least!

Can the scratch team re-post the article only here? the article seems to be gone on the other site or the link is to the wrong place.
