forum replies

when something on a forum of your is repied I think that you should get a message just like with projects like if they post a replied on your forum we are notified, if something we posted was quoted we are notified
that's a good suggestion I think

Re: forum replies

Not necessary, not to mention creators of now 70-page threads such as this one will be flooded with messages, and those messages will also waste a lot of server space.

Re: forum replies

I can see that being useful. For example, if you ask a question in "All About Scratch," and need an answer, you would not have to keep checking your post. It would be nice to have an option though. Perhaps, when creating a topic, there would be a button that says "notify me of responses" (or something like that).

Re: forum replies

The forums are seperate from the Scratch website, so it'd take tons of work. And server space.
Since the forums are seperate, we're also not going to be able to see if we have any notifications in the forums.

Re: forum replies

Or maybe we could say that when you make a new thread, you can check/uncheck a box saying "e-mail me replies?" and uncheck it when editing the thread.

That's better, but maybe there should be a box to send notifications, and of course we should be able to change it in the future.

Currently, the Scratch Forums has something similar involving e-mail notifications: e-mail digests (which is accessed through your forum options) can be used to keep track of anything new posted in the forums since your last visit (you can read more about it in this thread here). It may not be what you want, but it could still prove helpful if you want to keep track of what goes on in the forums, especially if you're gone for long periods of time.  smile

It's too bad there's no way to have e-mail digests specified to threads, though, I would like something like that.  smile
