The iPad sounds odd, but great.

I've never been a fan of apple products but the iPad is easily their worst creation. Its the same as the Ipod touch but it costs way more and won't fit in you pocket. Not to mention that the name sounds like its a tampon.

I expected it all along.
If I can shell out £99999.99 then I might get one.

I love Apple products, there are rather good quality. *cough* Unlike most Windows *cough*
I agree with the costing a lot, but it's flat, lightweight, has a touch screen.......it's cheaper than buying a laptop, I suppose. Although no Java support is a letdown. And I was suprised by the name.

I know, that's pretty good! And it seems pretty good quality, too.

Well according to this http://www.apple.com/ipad/
It costs at least 500$ which is enough to get you a decent laptop. It seems like it only runs apps from the apple appstore which basically makes it the same as an iPod touch only bigger.
Of course many people are going to buy this just because it is associated with apple, but it probably won't be as successful as their other products because it doesn't introduce anything new.

Ok, to all of you who are planning to get this: Being aware of the fact that the Ipad is the same as an iPod touch only bigger (and with a stupid name) why do you want it? Is it because of its features, or is it because it was made by apple (and is probably very shiny like all apple goods).

I guess some people like shiny things...

Music CD's are shiny too but when is the last time anyone bought one of those? The main reason most people decide to buy an apple product is because of its brand image and reputation for solid quality and innovation. I think that because the iPad offers no new innovation it won't do as well as other similar apple products.

The iPad? Sounds... lame.

I think they do have a lot of innovation, maybe I iPad just needs a lot more of it.

Ok, in this post you are praising it but then you say no innovation went into it. Assuming that you think this is a good product, what makes it good?

Apps, support, nice graphics, doesn't crash on you, somewhat affordable, innovation, and a guarantee if possible.
It's a good product, just not very different from the iTouch.
And stop acting like I'm a complete hypocrite and make of fool of myself.

I might look. I LOVE APPLE. But windows does have it's advantages. Like more games.

Not really. Bigger screen. Shiny design. Apps for making people shut up (smosh lol) and drinking beer. $500+. Not very good/important/useful...
Also about that +500. You should really teach your brain to look at every 99, and add 1 and regroup. And it says "Starting at 499". Really.... And a laptop is just about that same price. Just you actually have to look for good deals, as long as you don't necessarily look for the shiniest thing there is. Sometimes it can be $200, if you're going to the store on Black Friday. And if you're saying "Who cares for a Laptop", or just plainly "Laptops are too big to fit in your pocket", then... you have issues. Laptops have lots more capabilities than any of those "phones".

Hey - iPod touch is all good - apple's greatest success. It's just the iPad is a bit creepy (overgrown iPod).
