Important Question.

There is this Minnesota drawing contest, and I really want to enter it. The prize is your masterpiece in the MIA!!(Minneapolis Institute of Arts) The problem? Can't decide what to draw, and it's due February 1st. I need your serious opinion.

1. A winged wolf flying among the mountains.
2. A rat in the city alleyways.
3.  A wolf in the dark woods, fireflies about and eyes shining.

Vote, Scratchers!  You can also make suggestions, but don't just be ridiculous. I won't draw insects, humans, horses, random smileys, stuff like that.

Thanks ;D

Re: Important Question.

We never have drawing contests here  sad  We have writing contests, but they're all "Write in the style of a poet who you've never heard of - if you've heard of them, you're disqualified!"

Same. I'll put up some of the stuff that I've written soon, but I work mostly on paper, and I'm far too lazy to type it up. I've got a few bits on my PC, but those are ones of publishing quality - and I'm a bit worried that people would take them  hmm  I wrote a miniature story on Throughthefire's thread, if you want to see that.

Re: Important Question.

The wolf stuff is surely not gonna win. The rat idea is clever and original. Make that one.

Re: Important Question.

1. Eh, unoriginal.
2. Would look good if you pick a black-and-white sort of style... but I don't think they would give the place in the MIA to a drawing of a.....rat. xD
3. Kinda cool... I can't really imagine what it would look like, though.

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>

Re: Important Question.

um 1 if they're looking for fantasy
2 if they're looking for realism, it could represent something meaningful to you maybe??
3. i think thats pretty cool

i like number two alot though, it could be pretty deep.

Re: Important Question.

I don't know about you guys, but if I was entering, I'd focus a little bit more on what I want the picture to feel like, rather than focusing on a character.
(Example: For Christmas, I gave my dad a watercolor painting of guy standing on a city rooftop with arms extended as the wind ruffled his clothes. I had wanted to focus on the feeling of freedom. My dad recognized it immediately.)

i don't get it. how does that represent freedom? is the guy about to jump to feel the freedom and warm embrace of suicide?

Nice Paddle. I agree.

1. I wouldn't just seems weird, a wolf with wings? MAybe an eagle would be better.
2. Has some symbolish going on here. Very good idea, but it may be a little dark.
3. This would be just a cool picture.

Good luck with the contest!  big_smile
