Image file size?

Can anyone help me? I'm trying to upload a GIF for my avatar (See "Ima firin mah tuba" in my sig) I need to make it have a smaller file size. First off its pretty small, so im not going to reduce its size, second I'm not going to change quality because it looks cr@ppy enough. Could anyone help me?

Re: Image file size?

The avatar image is small to start with so you aren't going to get a lot of pixels in the display.  There no sense is providing more than the display is going to show so I would reduce the size down to about 90 x 90 pixels.

If that doesn't get you down small enough, you might want to look at reducing the color depth down to 8 bit color.  That should do it.

I just tried shrinking it in Paint.net but it doesn't seem to like animated GIF files...it only did one frame of it.  Maybe GIMP can do it?

I used the program i used to make it, and i optimized it, reduced size, and reduced some of the color and it looks fine to.
