People can make pointless scripts to punch up the stats, although this is a good idea.

And MOST of the users take like a minute to make a project, upload it, and automatically make the front page. I usually Constructively criticize the project, but then the maker, and his wanna-be-famous minions blatantly right some comment in all caps that goes something like.... "YOU JERKFACE! YOUR JUST JEALOUS! YOU ARE SO MEAN, AND YOU SHOULD GO DIE!". And stuff like that... Some peoples immaturity surprises me. The Scratch team may tell me that Everyone has different levels of skill, and that is true. But MOST people constantly on the front page have no effort to improve, instead they make the same types of projects over, and over, and over again. And people support them, by loving it etc. I really think all of Scratch should go find some unknown good projects, and promote them.

My last point is that you may find me to be a hypocrite, as I have had some bad projects on the front page... But I have changed, and I also think I have had more good than bad on the page. Also, take intro consideration that I have only been here for a year, and my Scratch skills are still developing.

Some people also just generally annoy me, which is also why my wrath has recently been upon them...

I know what you mean about all the projects that you just cant see why they are on the front page.
And i can only agree with what you say.

Anyone got a link to it, im very intrested in what your talking about, i didn't see that one.

I agree with the front page issue.It's not something i'd openly get mad about,but there are a ton of great projects that never get past 50 views because they're caught up in a torrent of mediocre projects.If it's a beginner,then you can't blame them for bad projects,but most of the projects on the front page that are considered "simple" are made by older scratch users who should know better.There is usually several good projects besides featured on the front page,but animations that don't deserve the spot often take up the front page's majority.Here's my list of the sections hit hardest by bad projects:

1)Most Remixed
   This section pretty much only has "add yourself" or "coloring contest" projects.Since I joined in early 09 i'm not sure if i'm correct,but I belive that most remixed was created because scratch is open sourced,and so the scratch team created this to show the ingenuity of scratchers innovating projects.Instead,it's become a place where no creativity shines;only battles for the front page.

2)Most Viewed
  This is slightly better since spam projects are usually overlooked and expectations are slightly higher,but it's still a place where battles over getting viewed flair up.After all,you only need people to click your button,and if you can create an interesting image with no scripting then you can get here.

3)Curated
  This is much better than the previous two as this shows that a scratch-team selected member likes your project significantly.However,everyone has different interests,and so there is still a fair chance of undeserving projects getting on here.

4)Most Loved
  This is slightly better than curated as it shows that multiple people enjoy your project.It's not totally secure though,as animations are a current favorite of scratchers,and animations have a reputation of being mediocre.Worse are "Love-It Games",where projects simply are made for the sole purpose of popularity.It's still better than the previous ones though,and there is almost always at least one deserving project on here.

5)Featured
  Featured is very secure as the entire scratch team looks at a project and decides if it shows enough creativity,diversity,and skill to be on the front page.Because of the careful judging of each project,the chance of a bad project landing here is slim.

One project that I think deserves to be on the front page now is the "Unknown Projects" newspaper.Although there is occasionally a well known project on it,the concept is great and I admire what the article is trying to achieve.
