Have you heard of AutoCAD? If so, have you used it before?
(CAD stands for Computer-Aided Drafting.)

I hope i'm not the only one who hasn't...
So that's the software that you're always using in the Explorers' RPG?

Actually, I use it in Drafting class a lot...

UM i have heard and used a cad but they arent worthy untill u are going to make some thing requiring engineering Sketchup with Sketchyphysics 3.0b installed is a good replacement for a begginning CAD before u get an actual cad it helps a lot understanding how cad works.Although u will have to programm the objects qualities in physics before using it like a physical body as in actual cad.
Its like if u draw a gear and another in side and u rotate one (if appropiate) the other will automatically rotate. (this was my first model with both sketchyphysics and FREE CAD)

In school I use autodesk inventor, but they do have AutoCAD. Outside school I use Blender.

I use autocad, but I wouldn't recommend it for casual use as it can be quite complicated.
Though the tutorials are pretty good.

I made a 3D city using AutoCAD. The pull-press button or whatever it's called that let's you pull up flat squares you draw onto the 'ground' and give them depth is useful, but unfortunately I don't have a version with it. Well, I have 2010 or 2009, but it doesn't work well (it's slow, and they changed a bunch of the features I'm used to). I am planning on getting 3Dmax soon so I can make actual 3D animations instead of just an undetailed cyber city (the houses have roofs, porches, and fences, but that's it).
