I would prefer B if you like it the way it is, or D if you want to change some things.

Use the supernova effect (what I used in the orb) on the background. Then use the smudge tool to bring up the rays to look like flames.

Hmmm...I've read every single post in the thread, and yeah, the stuff you put on the list is good stuff to fix. Heehee. But try not to take advice from me - a 10 year old artist. I'll get creepy if you ask me for advice. I'll end up editing the whole thing, but being lazy, and actually BADLY edit it. I wantz to draw archmage! Can I? Oh yeah...What's your best ref. pic of arch anyway? And if archmage is actually you, then'll edit this post.
