I made a tutorial on making fakemon (fake pokemon):


Step 1: Basic Idea
Get a basic idea. Mine will be a hedgehog. Feel free to think of anything else to combine it with. I'm combining my hedgehog with a thistle.

Step 2: Type
Now, we do what type it is. My hedgehog/thistle will be Grass Ground type. Think about what it actually is, like a ghost that is of course ghost type, but also you can make it crazy like a fire type grasshopper.

Step 3: Moves
Now we can make moves. Order it with what moves it has when you catch it, and moves it can learn through the levels. Don't always stick to just the moves of its type, you can use other types too. Heres an example, using my hedgehog/thistles moves:

-defense curl
-sand attack
6 accupressure
11 spikes
17 leech seed
23 poison jab
29 pin missle
36 stun spore
43 twineedle
48 absorb
56 mud bomb
64 earth power
70 earthquake
76 toxic spikes
82 sharpen
90 spike cannon

Step 4: Ability
Think of an ability that would go good with your pokemon. My Hedgehog/Thistle's ability will be Effect Spore.

Step 5: Evoloution
If your fakemon is going to have an evoloution, read on. If not, skip this step.

If your fakemon will have an evoloution, make it a more advanced version of your fakemon. DO NOT just make it bigger. You could even add a new type or change an old one. My Porcupine/Thistle will have an evoloution. It will stay as Grass Ground type though.

Now you have to come up with HOW it evolves. It can evolve in a certain area, at a certain level, by trading, by holding items, with happiness, when a certain move is learned, or at a certain time of day.

My Hedgehog/Thistle will evolve at lvl 18.

Step 6: Appearence and Shinies
Now, come up with what it looks like. My hedgehog will be a tiny, cute hedgehog with green spikes. Its evoloution will be bigger, have claws, look menacing, have bigger spikes, and have horns.

Now, what will its shiny form look like? Shiny forms are basicly differently colored versions of you fakemon. So my Hedgehog/Thistle will be a lighter green.

Step 7: Egg Type
You now must pick you egg type. The egg types are:

Bug: for bugs (EG caterpie)
Flying: for birds, and bats (EG starly)
Ditto: for ditto (EG ditto)
Dragon: for dragons and lizards. (EG gible)
Unbreedable: anything with no gender or can't breed (EG dialga)
Cute: for most cute pokemon. (EG clefairy)
Mammal: for most ground mammals (EG nidoking)
Plant: for plants (EG sunflora)
Humanoid: for human shaped pokemon (EG machop)
Unknown: for ghosts, blobs, gases ect (EG gastly)
Rock: for rock pokemon (EG onix)
Water: for fish (EG magicarp)
Water Mammals: For sea mammals (EG wailord)
Water Invertabrate: For sea invertibrates (EG paras)

My hedgehog will be mammal.

Step 8: Name
To name your fakemon, make a list of words that you could combine together to make your name. Think of words that match with your fakemons type, basic idea and appearence. Heres the Hedgehog/Thistle list:

Hedgehog
Porcupine
Barb
Velcro
Thistle
Pin
Burr
Quil
Spike
Spine

You could also use the japenese words and combine them. That works too. Anyways, back to my list- Hmmm... How about Porcupin for the first one? That is Porcupine and Pin. And Porcupins evoloution will be called Barbistle- Barb and Thistle.
