Hello! You posted a message in one of my projects saying that you wanted me to join this-and I would really love to! I would really like the character job-but if you think I'd be better for something else, then just tell me! Thank you so much for giving me this offer!

Your welcome, and i'm glad that you would love to join. You can be more than one part - if you'd like. I think that you may be good at the character designer - I love your drawings!

Well, I like story boarding and programming, too. More so for story boarding and coming up with ideas. I would very much like to be part of that.

I have already seen most of your drawings - could you post some of your best programing projects in the audition gallery? And by the way, every member is involved in the story board ideas.

Re: Develope Create_Inc.

I am thinking about creating an interactive story with multiple choise situations where the result are due to different variables.

Each chrachter would have variable scales for different emotional states, and the turns of the story would be based on how the variables stand or change when you make a choise.

Example variables:
Irritation -10 to 10
Happieness -10 to 10
Curiosity about X -10 to 10
Curiosity about Y -10 to 10
Curiosity about Z -10 to 10
Likes charachter A -10 to 10
Likes charachter B -10 to 10
And so on

From this you can build a sort of virtual personality that simulates emotional responses.
If sprite "pursuasive comment" is clicked, if varible "suspicion" is less than 3, set to 5. Else, increase suspicion by 2.

If suspicioin is more than 4, change costume of sprite "charachter_Tim-eyes" to CostumeNarrow.

Set storyvariable to number representing story path where Tim tails main charachter.

And so on. Might it work?

Re: Develope Create_Inc.

AlveKatt, your idea might work, but you might get bogged down in all the details.  Start with a stripped down outline of the interactive story, with the choice points and paths through the story worked out, then gradually add details.  Figure out what properties of each character are most important for determining the action and costumes, and add those first.  You might find that the story really only needs a few variables.

An interactive story is not a full simulation of the characters, as their interactions are constrained by the possible story lines.

Re: Develope Create_Inc.

Kevin: It irks me, but you have a good point... All to many projects I have started never got done due to me getting bogged down by too many details. That's why I hope the people in Develope Create inc will like the idea enough to help with fleshing out the details.

Also, I want to draw something. I wish us to start a project where I can use my drawing style.

I was thinking about a game using the emotional response simulation where you are a butler to a dragon. You need to take care of his treasure, make sure his library doesn't decay and talk to him to keep him happy. And try to make sure that any virgins sacrificed to the dragon gets away with their life, and a smile on their face, if not their virginity.

What do you think?

Re: Develope Create_Inc.

Sorry for my resume on Create_Inc. I have been so busy lately, but I am now ready to get back to work. In response to how many members are interested, I am now going to ask a task of the members:

What your first assignment is for the club, is to create a project of a(n) idea(s). Nothing big, just a small project indicating what we might build off of for our first project. It could be a drawing, or a small simulation. Please leave any questions or comments in the forum. Post your idea project in the Create_Inc. Chat room gallery.

Thank you and,
SCRATCH ON!

Re: Develope Create_Inc.

In the audtition gallery you posted that someone (can't remember username) should stick to drawings, 'cos you needed someone who can program with variables and can scroll and stuff.

I replied:

Uhhh..... am I up to your standards MITscratcher? (note. Check out cheesey peasey, its my best project yet!)

So, whats you anwser?

Many thanks,
messd002

I think she means this project: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/MITscratcher/78205

I wouldn't mind contributing, but it isn't my usual genre, I am having trouble with getting ideas that fit that context. I can help, and draw stuff, but the ideas preferably needs to come from elsewhere on this particular project.

MIT: Reply pending.

Re: Develope Create_Inc.

MITscratcher:

I am thinking of a Dragon butler game. Challenges would include keeping the dragon happy and docile so it doesn't eat and kill the sacrifices and burn the village below the mountain, with an implementation of the personality simulation described above.

Sometimes the villagers get bored, form a mob and try to storm the dragons castle. The challenge then would be to try to pursuade them to leave peacefully. Which would be harder if the dragon has snacked on a villager or two, which would happen when you don't keep him properly fed.

Other challenges could be to clear out phairy infestations from the big tower or make sure that the dragons' treasure stays sparkly clean. There are loads of possibilities for more challenge ideas.

Oh, I didn't draw it free hand, I used a Wacom drawing tablet. I think my english fails me here, what do you mean with free hand?

Just on a general note, you have a question mark by my name. Incase you need me to confirm anything, I am more than happy to be your programmer and scrolling BG guy.
