Talk About Where You Live! ^_^

Self- explanatory.  Do you want to tell people about your country, state, city, or province? Maybe where you have been, It's up to you!  big_smile  Why did I post this topic?

1. To learn about other places.
2. To fight negative stereotypes.
3. To have fun and maybe "brag" a little.  lol

So, here are some ideas of questions you can answer.

Where do you live?
What is the climate?
Why do you live to live there?
Are there any intresting traditions or cool sights?

Etc.

Have fun!

Colorado.... is Freezing over at the moment. In fact, it is snowing right now.  lol

It has lots of mountains.... yes mountains... another thing *cough* Minnesota doesn't have *cough*

It has a huge maze of sand dunes in the middle of a mountain surrounded valley...

There is lots of wildlife.  smile  There was a bear in our trash the other week...  yikes

And forests! lots of trees.  big_smile

Nothing else is coming to mind...  tongue

Re: Talk About Where You Live! ^_^

Minnesota can have major climate changes. 101(rare weather!!!!) in the summer to -60 degrees in the winter, we Minnesotans get the whole dish. It doesn't get as much snow as Colorado and Alaska, but we sure get the same temp!

We love cold weather, and bask in it. I went skating at about 6:30 - 8:30 P.M. a week ago- in 0 degree weather. Ice fishing is many Minnesotans hobby, or playing in the snow and pelting eachother with snowballs. That's something you can't do in Texas!

We don't have many mountains(Darn you Illusionist),  but we have more water than Colorado can dream of. Although no ocean(Who needs it anyway? Dirty and salty XP), we have THOUSANDS OF LAKES  and many ponds and rivers. They are fun to swim in. ^_^

We have the largest twine ball ever in little MN!  big_smile  The Mall of America, the International Wolf Center, and Paul Bunyan used to live here!  lol  Seriously, has anyone ever heard of him?

There is lots of wildlife. Less where I live(Southern Cropland MN), but in Northern MN we have EVERYTHING.  Bears, wolves, loons, racoons, lots of national parks and forests.....Minnesota also has the most bike trails in the USA. Minnesota has a lot of lovely pines, the most beautiful trees ever. Who needs Hawaii!

Our accents are the best. No arguing with that, eh?

We are also a very curtious community. For example, we(most, there are a few bad eggs in every batch) always say hello to whoever is walking on the street next to us, we open doors for people, do community service without being forced, and are overall nice.

Minnesota for the win!!

Pennsylvania's alright right now. It's got a nice mixture of city and nature. At least I don't have to worry about being invaded by Canadians  wink  Oh yeah, and the Eagles will destroy the Vikings  wink

Iowa

Very boring, filled with farms and doesn't have any mountains or really high hills

And it's very cold in the winter and in the 80s in the summer.

Scotland. I live here because I was born here. We do have many traditions, but because I'm in glasgow (a city) they're not that dominant.

Re: Talk About Where You Live! ^_^

Over on another side of the world, there is a large island with a whopping great rock in the middle, on the east side of that island is a state called New South Wales. Somewhere in the center of that is where I live. The landscape is rather barren in areas with little to no population, but in urban areas it is lush. Everything is in full bloom at the moment (it being summer) and the amounts of rain seem endless. The days heat is usually 30-35 degrees Celsius (86-95 degrees farenheit) although sometimes it can reach as much as 42 degrees celsius (108 degrees farenheit). Well, thats it really.

Spider Monkey is finished! ...Not that any of you will know what I'm talking about, but please check it out.  smile  http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/ElPapa/1021823

Re: Talk About Where You Live! ^_^

big city chicago! Or at least somewhere in Illinois...(don't love giving away the Personal info.)

We had rain rain rain yesterday, but man did it snow today! Packing snow- not so much. Stayed inside for most of the day when I wasn't experimenting with my brother on how to make our fort. Gets dark here real quick btw. The cookies I made were awesome. This old betty crocker cook book is full of these fun recipes! Pinwheel cookies, mexican hot chocolate, eclare-ish cookies, tea and it was just a great day.

Chicago isn't that huge, or at least the section where I most go whenever I'm in the city. Around the Pier, sears tower. Its fun being by the city, but I'm mostly in the suburbs. But, living here, it's not the landmark city. So, visiting chicago would be fun if you're a tourist, but, meh, it's very city-esque. (duh)

Re: Talk About Where You Live! ^_^

California, and I don't really like it to be honest. It has merciless heat in the summer, like 80-100 degrees, but of course the water in pools hardly ever warms up enough to swim. And there are rattlesnakes and stuff and misquitos or however you spell that. Autumn sheds few leaves and annoying, never-relenting warmth even though fall season should be nice and cool. Winter is still warmish, but there is rain sometimes, if we're lucky. Spring is way too warm for spring.
