Can I use Scratch Sprites for Java programming???

just wondering, is it possible to use the exported sprites inJava code or not. Also can you set it so that Scratch will export the image as a .GIF instead of .sprite ?

Go to Costumes and right-click on the costume(s) and select "Export costume". Then you can save the costumes.
