It says : Registered: ___. That is false. The registration date in the forums is actually when you first visited the forums. What?
Is this right? Either make the date right, or change "Registered" to "First visited forums"!

The only way to fix it is if the scratch team could add join dates OFF THE FORUMS.
I think

Noooo! I want to know when I really joined!
I hope they don't just change the name to "First visited forums at:". It's not as interesting as when we registered.

Actually, the "Registered" date is really when your account was created.
I had to confirm this, so I used my friend's account from when he was still using Scratch, and found his first and only post in the forums.
Sure enough, his register date was 2007-09-28 even though the post was made on 2008-05-23.
Hope that helps

I found a user whose first project was made months before his or her forum registration date.

Wait...
Oh wait I see now.
That would also explain why his and mine are 6 months apart even though we were told about it at the same time.
Nevermind about that then

The date is when you visited the forums, not when you posted.

Thanks for your interest. I can see where the label "Registered" might be confused with the date you joined Scratch...but if you understand that the Forums are a separate program from Scratch and that the first time you visit the forums, you are automatically registered in them, then the confusion goes away.
Probably something could be done to clear up the confusion...what would be best?
1. to put the Scratch registration date there
2. to make it the date you first posted
3. to keep it the date of first visit but change the description
4. other
Personally, I don't really see the need to make any change at all...it seems pretty minor to me.

How about all of those options?

That's sorta contradictory.
As in 1 date cannot equal all 1, 2, and 3.

Nonono, three separate dates.
EDIT: Actually, I'm not sure that's possible. Silly me.

Definitely 1. We all want to know our registration date, and we all want to show how old we are to others (you know, everyone loves saying "I'm old! Look at my registration date!" We all love boasting. ). And it just seems nicer than the others.

Hmmm... the problem is, everyone seems to use that registration date shown as their real one. This causes confusion.

For fun, and to be helpful (hopefully), I'll just talk about each one.
1. This is nice. Everyone likes to know their registration date, and it's more useful than the date you first visited the forums, and people would like it more than the date you joined (right?).
2. This doesn't really do anything... there's still the problem that it says Registered, with a different date than when you did register. It doesn't help.
3. This helps as much as number 1, so let's put it like this: Which is better: the date you registered, or the date you first visited? (Remember, the name changes for the second)
4. I have no idea what else we could do.
A thing to keep in mind... wouldn't people prefer their registration date to the date they first visited the forums? From common sense and what people are saying, it seems to be the registration date.
From all this, it's obvious I like number 1.

June 19th is my birthday, Whiz!
I agree with the idea. It's sure confusing to have the forum registration date. Paddle, you've said forums is a separate program. But it's already bound to ScratchR script - e-mail change through ScratchR profile, link to ScratchR profile instead of forums profile and of course inability to change the time zone, cough cough, sarcasm sarcasm. So I don't think it would be hard to change it anyway.

If you're thinking that they can't change the date, think about this:

If he put those options there, it means that they're possible! Why would he put them there if the Scratch Team couldn't do them?

Wait, but do they even know our registration dates?

Sure! Why would Paddle put number 1 in the list if they couldn't do it?

Well, I don't know... it just seems like something hard to keep track of.

Oh, why are you all so fussed? You don't have to do anything.
