What's the problem with Windows 7? In my opinion its very self explanatory, and very friendly. I was recently trying out the speech recognition, and translating text into Microsoft Anna (not Sam)'s voice.

Macs have speech recognition too.

Does this look complicated? I also think that it's faster to just click on the icon and wait a few seconds for the app to pop up.

Saying market share is the only reason macs are virus-free is a sign of ignorance. Companies take the time to writ multi-platform programs, so virus writers would, too.

Mac = Entirely 64-bit, free indie developer kit (run install disc 2 after you complete install), Apple cores(Core Image, Core Animation(OpenGL/OpenCL), Core Data, Core Audio(OpenAL)), use CrossOver to run windows apps, computers made by Apple.


Windows = 32/64 bit, DirectX/OpenGL/OpenAL/DirectSound, lots of apps available, 3rd Party computers.

Windows if you want to play games or if your a straight up-gamer and want a decent laptop with good gaming capabilities for a cheap price get a gateway im getting sa 550 dollar laptop that has 500 gigs 4gig ram with a graphics card that can support DirectX9.0

I host servers for money ya?

One thing I'd recommend is not to get a Macbook. Go for a 13'' Macbook Pro. Not much more expensive, but much better.

Mac is awesome. windows is okay, but has much more problemas. (you have to coordinate a LOT more) linux pwns, but i don't want an awesome operating system and not be able to download most programs. the bad part about mac is that some people only have windows installers for programs. what i want to say is this:

if you don't care about downloading programs from the internet, get linux.
if you want a computer where you can't download as much, but still want a cool operating system, or are worried about computer viruses, or want one that won't be obsolete anytime soon, get MAC.

if you want to interact with many different computers, want all downloads, and don't care about some of the extra work, get windows.

i am partial to mac, but different operating systems appeal to different ways of using the computer.

TBOS (Toxic Blobs Of Slime) will get you someday. Better buy a slime suit. Too late. Here they come...

I think It really depends on what you use the computer for. Also, keep compatibility in mind if you get a Mac. You may not be able to use the same programs that you use in Windows if you get a mac.
