Ok I would like this to be made clear, is there any point and use in making things with scratch
other then wasting time when im bored?
Can I convert my game to swf so it runs on all my devices? can I download it to a memory stick and use it on devices without scratch installed

My question is whats the point and purpose of using scratch

Re: The point?

the point of using scartch, and any programming language, is to learn. If you mean why is it better to use scratch rather then other languages like c, java, flash etc... then i must say the ease of use. Knowing AS2 and AS3 my self, its a lot harder then scratch is, and so might discourage a lot of people. however starting off in scratch gives them a introduction to programming, and sets them up to learn new languages.

No, you cannot convert scratch to ShockWaveFlash files, however there are numerous programs that you can use to convert scratch into a .exe file which will work on any pc, and there was one to convert to something mac compatable as well, although i remember these comming out about 6 months ago, and i have no idea where they are now.
