The paint program on scratch 1.4 has been useless and very helpfull in different ocasssions. For Ex.:
Scratch's painter has a good made: Making the image bigger/smaller
Scratch's painter also has a few bad functions including: Pixelation increase and importing images sometimes is a hastle 2 load.
What do u think?
Should there be a more profesional paint program in 1.5?

I agree! Eventually, I think Scratch should support vector images, and include some too! Vector images are images that can be zoomed in and will never pixelate!
Vector images = Good
Hope that helps!

In my opinion there shouldn't be a better paint program. Its only going to make more people make art projects.

Art isn't bad. Actually, Scratch was originally for art, but then people got fancy and made other stuff.

How was it for art? The Scratch Logo says imagine-Program-share. The scratch website was intended for programming not art. Websites like DeviantArt are created strictly for art. Hope it helps

Vector images are exactly what Scratch needs.
They take up less space, and look sleeker!

But the WHOLE Paint program would have to change if they added Vector images

A better quality paint program is exactly what we need! Better graphics; happier users who are looking at the project.

Yes. U guys are talking about JUSt what i meant. I hope the scratch team takes a good look at this one.

The paint program on scratch would make it easier for scratch users because many are not even using the paint program---They are using GIMP or GNU Paint or something.
I don't mean that the scratch paint program can be be as good as GIMP though.

it would be nice if 1.5 would have a blur tool :3 sry but i'm OBSESSED with blur tools for some reason lol...
If it had all those tools, it would be more of a graphics editor instead of a paint editor. The paint editor is best off simple, but with some good tools.

:I I think it'll be nicer to have some good tools like a "spraypaint" tool and and nicer color fill system. I'd like a blur tool, but It's not necessary.
I'm not overwhelmed by this though.

It's best to use 3rd party program to make sprites, rather then on sight,
but a better editor would be good too.

I like the paint editor the way it is. Adding things like blur and smudge would just made the Scratch paint editor like GIMP or something like that. And it isn't neccessary to have a perfect paint editor for Scratch, and if you wanted something better than the Scratch paint editor can do, just use a different program and import the picture into Scratch!

Never mach GIMP, or Wilber will eat you in your sleep.

Thats EXACTLY like what i wrote above! I would like the paint editor to have a couple more tools, vector images, and maybe more effects buttons, but i would be out of my MIND to want it to be like GIMP!

Nah, right now people can use Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.NET and import the image. And why would it cause people making more art projects? It may also allow people to make better sprites for good games.
And I agree with the vector graphics idea but maybe Scratch would have to be reprogrammed to support them.

I want it better than PhotoShop in 1.5!!

I suppose a spray can tool (like on Microsoft Paint) and maybe one of those polygon tools? I mean, the line tools OK, but you have to be very precise to join the corners. Perhaps some tool that when you click the button, the sprite goes to the centre of th paint editor? I always find myself drawing over the edge...

Turn it back into 4 shades per color >.< I used to be able to sprite in scratch paint and program as I draw the animation frames. Now, I have to open 1.3, create the sprite, export the image, then import it into 1.4.
