Well it's not like RK made any games...
Are games the only advanced things? I'll have you know animating can take hours on end( not that I put hours into mine ^^") You still need to program, and design, scetch, so don't think not advanced=no games.

Maybe a couple more years.
Things that have drawn me away:
-Learning C#, without cheating (as in using just the Visual Studio aspect, without actually doing any code)
Console.WriteLine("I am learning C#")-Learning Python
print "I am learning Python"
-Emerald (http://www.gershmer.net/emeraldteam/)

I'm not criticizing game makers. Just saying animators are talented people too. And artists.

But does that automatically make them programmers?

More or less. It depends. Are you talking about the average scratcher?

Yup....
I do that too, with C++. I don't like programs that make something that's not supposed to be visual into something visual.
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main ()
{
cout << "I'm learning C++\n";
return 0;
}
Please leave a message at the beep.Offline

SCRATCHER? I'm talking about the average programmer. And RK didn't make much animations either. Mostly "Add yourself" remixes and drawings.

What's with the acronyms? XD Anyway, everyone makes an impact in there own way. Like Twisted Wizard was exactly nobel prize material, but it was good.

While you were argueing, I thought of this..
Although I agree with you, I think art is not meant for scratch. Its just pictures, and even though there is a lot of effort put into them, they dont belong on a programming website. programming means games, animations, soft wares... etc. FSor art there are different websites.

It's a way of expressing yourself. Isn't that the point? If all the artists kicked the programmers to Newgrounds, how would all the programmers feel?

Yes, but scratch is not meant for art! I love art, I love it in animations, games, and programs. I also love art by itself, but does it belong on scratch? Just a picture?
Mabye a slideshow...

I think art should only get attention when it is in a project with more than just art.

As long as scratch is still a great community and I still enjoy doing it I guess.

Which link do I click when I get there?
Offline
for the iphone apps i have no idea but its on a different site, for the c++ click on download, for silverlight i gave the wrong link, here is the right one http://www.silverlight.net/getstarted/ in the first paragraph it should say in brackets (the SILVERLIGHT SD3 KIT is also available as a standalone...) click on the silverlight sd3 kit and it will download all of the needed files (except the web platform which you already get from c++
