Cocoadamus:
-The sun will explode. In billions of years.
-There'll be a war. Started by some military.
-WE'LL ALL DIE.
That's probably what Nostradamus was like.

Hmm-hmm. Well, duh, eventually the Earth will end but it won't be because of some Mayan calender myth(yes, myth, because when the calender reaches and end point it restarts, it doesn't end), probably because of war, overpopulation, etc.

He probably just said "hey, the world's gonna end!" and everyone related to the Mayan calendar, even if he never mentioned it. Because obviously the world's going to end... And besides, I don't believe in that 2012 junk. It's doesn't mean anything at all.

think of this is ur christian:(srry to offend any1):The Mayans believed in MANY gods.christians only believe in 1 god.THE TRUE GOD that is.so,the Mayans are wrong. It's all settled.but,we'll see once we get there..

The only reason that everyone thinks the Mayans predicted this is because their calander ended in 2012, they never actually predicted the apocolypse.

No. The end of the world is just a theory from the western world.

eeerr... Nostradamus lived in the... 17th century? He was an author. He had a companion when he wrote his book of predictions, whom was familiar with alchemy, which was forbidden at that time.

I have a couple of questions about Nostrodamus.
1. When did he live.
2. HOW did he make his predictions
3. Give an example of a wrong prediction he made.I can answer number 3 for you. I also posted this on the 2012 thread by doody.

Well bout Nostradamus...another reason that he isn't all right because rememebr bout 15 years ago(some of you might not have been born 15 years ago....) that Nostradamus predicted that there will be an earthquake and that earthquake would split California in half and the half will be an island and every body on it will die? Well turns out that there was an earthquake....and it was on the predicted day and guess what archmage? Millions of people jumped off buildings, killed them selves, and killed other people because they thought that it was the end of the world. 1 guy jumped out of his apartment and killed himself. Another family drove out California, burned down their home and found out it wasn't going to happen..so they killed themselves on the road....so Nostradomus could be wrong and i hope the California incident doesn't happen again....on 2012
Well, where I live they said there will be a MASSIVE earthquake that will reach ALL the way to oregon, and it will still be as powerful as being right there in california.
Although, IDK if will split california in half

Book of predictions? Please, it was a book of what everyone knew was going to happen.

That's exactly how Nostradamus predicted. It was as obvious as can be.

The true question about Nostrodamus or any supposed prophet:
Where their predictions clear and unambiguous enough to act on *before* the allegedly foreseen event took place?
The answer is, of course, a big fat NO!
***
Still not convinced? Post for us one of Nostradamus' predictions for the next few years. Anything that your personal reading of Nostradamus make you quite certain will happen within the next, say, 3 years. Or if none, 5 years. Failing that, 10 years.
No prediction is worth anythig if it cannot be recognised until after the event.

The Mayan calendar only ends at 2012, it doesn't say TEH WURLD IS A SPLODE NAO.
It's like saying MY CALENDAR ENDS AT DECEMBER 31st, THEREFORE THE WORLD WILL END TOO.
Besides, the world will end because of a Class 4 zombie invasion, not because some silly ancient calendar stops..

Not may. Will. Maybe not soon, but it will end sooner or later. Not on 2012, probably a lot later than that, but still, it could be around the corner. The world won't end though. Just humans.
My estimation is about November 2064. Maybe a disease, maybe a new species, smarter, and stronger. We might not know until it's too late.
