Nostradamus never predicted the rise of Hitler. He said something so completely vague that it would inevitably happen one day. And I think the only reason he predicted the end of the world on 2012 was because the date will be '12/12/12' and it will be the last time that the month will be able to match up with the year and day, because there is no 13th month.
2012 is just a myth by the Mayans. You can expect for the world to end much before that. Nostradamus would have been thought of a lot smarter if he realized that the possibilities of the world ending started a bagillion years ago.

Well, Nostradamus did give a lot of pretty specific details about Hitler.
Read the part about the proof of Hitler's rise and fall
http://www.spartechsoftware.com/dimensions/mystical/nostradamus.htm
Here are some things he accurately predicted:
-Hitler was born in western Europe to poor parents
-He charmed crowds with his oratory skills
-Specified the USSR as being his adversary
-Predicted the rise of his book
-Many people died
-Accurately predicted his age at 55 years 10 months
-The amount of concentration camps
-The fall of Germany to the USSRNostradamus is complete rubbish.
I can predict random stuff to, and there are HUGE odds they will happen...
Ok, but can you predict such specific details such as the ones I listed that Nostradamus predicted?
I am not saying that I believe 100% that the world will end in 2012. What I am trying to say that in my opinion the strongest evidence to support the world ending in 2012 is Nostradamus' predictions. Anyone can just say that a bad person will kill many people in the future but Nostradamus gave many details in to this person which further support its accuracy.

What if it wasn't Hitler? What if he was talking about someone else?

If it was someone else, Nostradamus still predicted the future, it would be us who were mistaken on who he was predicting about

Please, future? If he had said, "An Austrian man name Adolf Hitler who is a German politician and was a Nazi", then he would be correct.

Yeah, he actually refers to Hitler as "Hister" but all of his details match Hitler.
It would be hard to imagine it being someone else that fits the descriptions Nostradamus gives.
Try naming another person who:
-Lived from 1889 to 1945
-Was born a poor person in western Europe
-Had great oratory skills
-Fought wars with the USSR
-Burned people alive in ovens
-Wrote a popular book to spread their ideas

And anyway, a Mayan astronomer wrote that the end of 2012 would be a day of rejoicing for the Mayan peoples. Would the end of the world be a day for rejoicing?

I bet there is someone who probably had a life like that...

An example of a Nostradamus Theory...
A man from the east of America born around 2009-2100, will rise to power...
He will be born from rich parents...
He will start many wars...
See, anyone can do that. Baed on the fact that there are BILLIONS of people in the world, anything is possible.
Offline
No, Nostradamus was much more accurate than that. You are correct in saying that anyone can make up vague predictions but Nostradamus was really precise. To take your example, this is how specially Nostradamus would put it.
- A man from Eastern United States born 2009 and died 2100 and 2 months will gain control of the armies of his country by doing... (insert what he did)
-His family was wealthy
- He will start wars with (list specific countrys) and the results of these wars are (list results)
-His name is Mabus (the name of the third antichrist)
But yes, it is easy to misinterpret what he says. There is a group of people who think Obama is the 3rd anti christ because he somehow suits the descriptions and his name sounds like Mabus.

Give a name to this someone then. I don't think there were too many people who had control over the armies of Germany so that really narrows it down.

Yes, Nostradamus predicted the name and states that the second anti christ as "Hister" which is very similar to Hitler.
here are the antichrists that he names
1. naploean
2. Hitler
3 mabus
The thing about Obama being an Antichrist is mostly just a way to justfiy people's racism though. The identity of Mabus is a mystery.

I have a couple of questions about Nostrodamus.
1. When did he live.
2. HOW did he make his predictions
3. Give an example of a wrong prediction he made.

I can answer number 3 for you. I also posted this on the 2012 thread by doody.

Well bout Nostradamus...another reason that he isn't all right because rememebr bout 15 years ago(some of you might not have been born 15 years ago....) that Nostradamus predicted that there will be an earthquake and that earthquake would split California in half and the half will be an island and every body on it will die? Well turns out that there was an earthquake....and it was on the predicted day and guess what archmage? Millions of people jumped off buildings, killed them selves, and killed other people because they thought that it was the end of the world. 1 guy jumped out of his apartment and killed himself. Another family drove out California, burned down their home and found out it wasn't going to happen..so they killed themselves on the road....so Nostradomus could be wrong and i hope the California incident doesn't happen again....on 2012

Interesting. Whats your source for this? My reason for asking is that if he was always right there could only be two reasons:
1. He was supernatural (unlikely)
2. He is a made up person, such as Odessius, or Achilles.
However, this proves that he is real, and made some prediction, as long as the source is accurate.

Nostrodamus is a real person, you can search wiki, but not at all is he "special". He made assumptions that anyone could make and people believed that he was a prophet.
