Finale is awesome, I agree. (duh)
And you can transfer to MIDI, File>Save As, then change it to MIDI File (*.mid)
I have Finale PrintMusic 2009, and used to have Finale SongWriter 2007. I also have Finale Reader for my non-Finale computer(s).
I can save MIDIs in PrintMusic and SongWriter. I'm sure of it.
And MIDI Instruments = Instruments.
That's why the word INSTRUMENT is in it.

Ok, maybe you don't understand what this topic is talking about. This topic, is talking about MUSICAL instruments. The ones that you PLAY WITH YOU BODY, OR VOICE, or anything like that.
Don't say it, just so you can feel arrogant lol.

I play Piano, used to play Clarinet, and a bit guitar and recorder.
Give me a couple days, I can learn an instrument's basics.
I play piano the most(started when I was five). Everyone, my piano teacher, my mom, and everyone else says I have a special skill in which I can FEEL the music instead of really PLAYING it. You know what I mean? It''s a very rare talent. I'd say it feels basically like you just know the music and play it from your heart...

MIDI and Garage band aren't instruments. They are robotic synthasizers(correct my spelling?), and are recorded notes of instruments in high quality.

Lol. I do know one really good piano player on youtube, and he's kyle landry. He's really really good. He does video game music, and movie music, or popular music, sometimes classical, and lots and lots of improvisations.
I do have to say though, that I'm really good at sight-reading, like playing a song that I've never played before. Not that I can play a song perfectly, but I don't have to stop very often.

Definition of Instrument:
a contrivance or apparatus for producing musical sounds
Definition of Musical:
having a nature of music or resembling music
1.MIDI programs, Finale, and Garage Band, by definition "produce musical sounds"
2.MIDI programs, Finale, and Garage band, by definition "resemble music"
I prove my point.

I play the guitar and some drums, but I barely ever say anything about it because I don't want to sound pretentious.
I have also played the flute, mandolin and a bit of bass.
I would like to learn the theramin and some hang drum while I'm at it.
Yey music.

I play the piano. Sometimes my skills at piano can be transferred over to other instruments such as the melodica.
In grade school I learned some basics on playing the recorder. But I don't like the recorder too much.
I guess if you count Finale Notepad, I can play a wide range of instruments. But Finale Notepad is really more of a medium for composition than for music playing.

I think Lucario621 has a version of Finale that is incapable of MIDI conversion. Finale PrintMusic and Finale Songwriter can convert scores to MIDI, but old versions of Finale Notepad (anything with the year 2007 and older, if I remember correctly) cannot convert the scores to MIDI files. I remember being over exuberantly happy when Finale Notepad 2009 was upgraded and released with MIDI conversion because I was able to get rid of my version of Finale Notepad 2007 and convert my musical compositions to MIDI files (this was when Finale Notepad was still being offered for free
).

I think that explains why. Maybe I just didn't notice the function either though. Because I have Finale Notepad 2007 or less, or possibly 2008.
