If you're wondering why they created it in the first place, they didn't know it would get as big as it was. And for the reason why they approved of the idea, it was to clean up Inspiration and More - which was made to clean up the other forums.

big-bang has once given a link to his suggestion for Text-Based Games. I found it: Forum Games Category Read it, along with the posts. History.

Jonathanpb’s complaints had nothing to do with the Scratch administator's decision to remove TBG, he has no power over the abolishment of any Scratch forum. I was referring to andresmh’s reasons for removing TBG.

And again, some of these things DO inspire others to make projects. Currently The-Saint is now making a pokemon game just like Pokemon Silver, and I should know, because I actually beta-tested the beginning of it, and it was great. And in addition, he said he got the idea of doing it partly from FMT's Pokemon Center thread.

So Inspiration and More really doesn't need to be deleted. Its required because people want it. Its required because of human nature. And you can't change that, I'm afraid.

I was emphasizing on inspiration before because as trying to point out that Inspiration and More has not suddenly lost it's purpose (inspiration) and turned into some kind of off-topic waste dump where many threads serve no purpose to anybody. The main topic of this thread was to influence the nature of the discussions going on in the 'Inspiration and More' forums because inspiration was lacking in them; on the contrary, I believe there is and I feel there's no need to change the discussion because the discussions are inspirational already. Hence my emphasis on inspiration because inspiration is the main reason for this section's existence here on the Scratch forums.

(Hopefully I made myself clear because I rushed to type this as I have class soon).

But yes, let's move on, and have everyone talk about how they feel about the current state of 'Inspiration and More'.

This forum was made for topics that weren't scratch related. Refer to the sticky thread that is closed in this section and you'll see what I am talking about (the one by registeel).

Look. How many people do you think post topics in Inspiration and More for inspiration? Not many, if any.

Andrés says that it's for inspiration (along with keeping the forums clean, but that isn't important here). How many topics are being posted for inspiration? They're mainly posting it for fun, and they post off-topic things.

Think about it. Do you think people are using Inspiration and More as an off-topic forum where they can post freely? It sure seems like it.

It was created for inspiration (obviously) and to keep the forums clean. You were right though, it's just that it was also for inspiration.

Honestly, if they had named it Inspiration, we'd have a cleaner forum.

Read cheddargirl's suggestion: I suggest that the layout of 'Inspiration and More' be changed.

You misunderstood me, I didn’t say normal Scratch user can’t suggest thing, of course they can! I was stating that it is not within their power nor is it their decision to remove or revise Scratch forums.

Sorry for bumping (it's five days old, yet still on the third page)--but, along with Cheddargirl's idea, why don't we make it so you have to state a reason how your topic could be inspiration? I'm not saying that I agree with you, martianshark-I'm quite afraid I don't, as anything can be inspiration, but this, I suppose could help...
