Scratch

Ok guys I'm uploading a new one with a new background. This one isn't 'techy', but something I thought would be REALLY cool and unique. Scratch cat - in SPACE!!!!!! And he even wheres a fishy bowl  .

I think he means player because that is really what it is. the player says something and the cat responds. I think he means add more answers to the questions that the player can ask.

This is wierd, but do you think maybe I could work on sounds? Sorta like how in animal crossing the people talk, but not litterally in words?

Maybe not actually - its kinda wierd now that I think about it...

The text automatically centers itself to the top generally, so it shouldn't be a problem really.

And about the sounds I am not sure. That many sounds will make the file large, and laggy online. It also might be annoying(just like in Animal Crossing). But for now let's work on the mechanics and maybe in a 2.0 version there could be sounds and stuff, but that is far ahead.

I've actually been working on the text appearence and sounds, and its coming out pretty nice... but still improvements to be made.

1. You can type in a message and you can see what it would look like. It looks like he's typing it, just like in video games, and theres a cute short sound for each letter. To do this, type in set , just out of nowhere, and then set it to the phrase.

1.a. Also you can set it to questions, by putting an asterisk in front of the question.

1.b Also you can put emphasis on certain parts of sentences, such as after commas, by putting an asterisk in the sentence. This makes it more realistic.

2. Comments to show where things will go in the final version.

What if it gets tired? Does it ever yawn, or laugh?
What if it gets distracted?
Does it tell you about its day?
Does it have opinions?

See, you have to give it a random personality.

Haggis is just disgusting. If anyone says they like it, it'd be a lie, a joke, or they've never tried it before. It's an acquired taste, but there's not enough sheeps in the world to get it.

It's my response to the Hazardous Haggis (or something of that nature) Title of some programming team, which is very much on topic, if not slightly too much.

Where can I find said topic?

Anyway guys, I'm doing pretty good on the yawning. Due to the bad look of closing the Scratch Cat's eyes to make him look like he's sleeping/tired, instead he just says one of the following every 20 seconds:

...*yawn*...
...*cough*...
...well...
...hmm...
...so...
...*sneeze*...
...let's see...

Although if the cat says something, then that 20 seconds will reset.

Pretty good, right? I'll try to upload sometime...

Good job with the bot, and I think it should be CatBot or something like that.

Let me just say, that the text may seem a little slow, especially in space, but once you remove the sliders for the mouth expressions, its quicker. If anybody knows how to speed it up more, that would be great, but I think I made it as efficient as possible while doing the certain asterisk features.
