Hello, fellow Scratchers!
I'm a bit new to the forums, so please excuse me if this is in the wrong section. Anyway, I'm sure that it's been suggested before, but I thought that Scratch's capabilities would blossom if a set of "Multiplayer" blocks were added. It could use some of the following:
*Username (of player/players)
*Max number of players
*Server
*Chat
*Message
And so on. However, 'Chat' might not come until a future time, because player-created chat, although it's cool and fun, would take a huge effort to moderate.
Besides that, I think that a set of multiplayer blocks would help Scratch expand. Please tell me your opinion, or how I could improve upon this thought.
Thanks,
-Insider

This will get complicated though...
Multiplayer online game= complicated 0_o
A simple mmo would be boring.
The most annoying part:
Would you have to have 200 PLAYER sprites per server or something?
Oh and I think this belongs in suggestions... Mods please move!

Yeah, those are pretty good, really. You could have a Player (#) block, and a quit function. Good idea!

The idea is right but then no one will come on site and it will make scratch more complex for the younger people
The simplicity of Scratch is a huge asset to the community. Maybe the entire section of Multiplayer blocks should be available to a certain age group? Such as 13 or over, etc.? Or maybe it should get turned off altogether by the user.
By the way, to keep website popularity up, maybe it should be that people can only interact when they're playing on the website. In other words, you can't download and play with others!
Thanks for suggestions, and sorry for the wrong section. Honestly didn't see the big bold letters of "SUGGESTIONS."

I would definitely like to see this added, I'm sure this would be welcomed by most of the Scratch community. For example, this would be invaluable to my racing series - it would be much more fun battling it out against a real player rather than a computer AI.
I think there is already a way to get multiplayer games in Scratch but it is VERY complicated, would like to see something simple to use for the novice.
