It would be nice if Scratch had a feature where you could take a picture of something in the stage and make it a sprite/costume. Since it could make a new sprite, I'm guessing this would be added after sprite duplication.
If this block existed, you could make a photo gallery in a project. The different options would be "Stage" "Sprite-name" or "From X___ Y___ to X___ Y___".
