Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia
I did not post this for spam, I posted so people could share other funny words or talk about this one. Who knows...it might inspire someone. The reason the word I posted might not be funny is because I didn't add the definition:
Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia - The fear of long words.
You can rate the one above you, but I don't want this to turn into a forum game and be moved/closed.

I have always wondered why they ame up with such a word for the sympton o.o
Who's going to want to walk into the doctor's, only to be told they have Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia when they're scared of long words?
I'm also curious as to who invented the word xD

When I say this word at school, people are scared of me:
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.
It's one of the longest words in the english language. It's a certain lung disease.
It was funny, because I typed it in on one of my school computers, and it counted as a word... lol

O.O Who exactly came up with that? O.O And how exactly did they explain it? xD
The answer is easy: It took them a LONG LONG TIME......

xD I have a feeling people invent these long, long, long, long words, just to confuse everyone else.
Edit: Anyone want to try these in Scribblenauts? xD
I don't think they would fit.
However, invisibility cloak fits, and works.

They won't work in Scribblenauts.
The dictionary there is for objects. You won't have a specific disease and a specific phobia in there, they dont really count.
That would be an extremely complicated game if you could control people's diseases and fears...

Why not just call it Protein X?

This is getting a bit off-topic (funniest words, people, not longest words) and very jejune at the moment.
Ever heard of the posthumous award? You shouldn't ever be happy to get one, nor even be able to see it at all. Posthumous, if broken into the stems "post" and "hum", would mean "after earth". Posthumous literally means after being buried in the ground.
If you're dying to get that award, I hope you now can rest in peace.
