I'm reposting this because I didn't want it to go unnoticed in a buried thread:
I'd like to do what I can to keep the TBG forum running in one way or another. I'm an English teacher & Scratch Club sponsor with several years experience facilitating on-line discussions. But even though I'm the same age as the original Pong (yes, literally), I love the irreverent creativity of the TBGs. After all, "The opposite of war isn't peace-- it's creation." (who can name that Broadway reference?)
I'm an extremely active member of the Scratch community, having had two galleries and two projects featured on the start page. I also initiated the discussion of Critique Groups which has bee viewed over 25,000 times, and I recently launched the Catalyst Academy as a way to share my ideas about Scratch, animation, and game design.
I'd be happy to serve as a moderator/coordinator/administrator for a reincarnated version of the TBG forum. Just let me know how I can help.

There is a way we can keep these forums alive though. We would like to offer the possibility of creating a separate website (e.g. http://scratch.mit.edu/someotherforum) where we can put the Text Based Forums as a separate space from the Scratch Forums.
This would require a lot of work, so we would only do it if we can find a couple of moderators who would commit their time to keep these forums free of inappropriate behavior, dissolve fights and follow the Scratch Terms of Use.
Let me just remind everyone that the Scratch team is offering the POSSIBILITY of a new TBG IF they find suitable mods. I'm sure they will though.

As yet, you're the only person who is insanely mad. Will you be the one starting that "Revolutionary Scratch War" or whatever you're calling it?
Frankly, TBG did nothing to contribute to the Scratch community and was a waste of moderators' time.Eh, I would be called "The Scratch Civil War" since it would be a fight within a group of people AKA: TBG approvers and TBG disapprovers
XD Yeah, sure. I'd agree with that. Instead of a country divided, it was a website divided. Not as big, but I still agree.

It would be great to have a teacher help with moderation!

There's not going to be a Scratch civil war, anyway. The admins would put a stop to it.

I would like to help keep it alive by becoming a moderator on the site. I am very disappointed that the TBG have been removed, so I want to help keep the new site alive by keeping ANY inappropriate things out. I think part of the reason TBG is being removed because of the arguments to keep/get rid of it. I have been on scratch for a while now and I think I can handle being a moderator to help keep scratch am online kid-friendly community.
