Hello Scratchers,
this thread is for all of you, who want to communicate with the German language Scratch community but do not speak German yourselves. Most people from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other German speaking countries learn English at school, so it's no problem for us to answer you in English (if you accept our German-English :-) )
The German Scratch Community is a free group of interested people started mid 2007 with many "eMails to All". Meanwhile there are about a dozen people (all multiplicand's like teacher, scientists, IT-people an interested parents of Scratch-kids). Andres (who programs the ScratchR platform) was so kind, to give us a German Forum, so we don't have to communicate via eMail in the future. Thank you Andres!
The German language Scratches made the translation for the German PO-File for Scratch 1.2 to ensure having a common base of Scratch-expressions. Thank you Andreas Brodbeck ( www.scratch.ch ) for making the first German translation of Scratch 1.1 and connecting the Swiss and German Scratchers via that writeboard for Scratch 1.2. Kevin Caluser - who was responsible for the translation of ScratchR, as a trainee of a swiss company that takes part in http://www.informatica08.ch , informed me, that Evelyn Eastmond considers to give also the ScratchR-PO-file to the German language Scratch community: I appreciate that!
Some of the German language Scratchers are: Rolf Becker, Jens Mönig, Andreas Brodbeck, Markus Schlager, Alex Olinger, Ralf Romeike, Kevin Caluser, Martin Wollenweber and as an interested person Dr. Markus Gälli the president of the German Squeak club (Squeak e.V. at www.squeak.de ). Some of them put their projects at: http://scratch.mit.edu/galleries/view/1638
Please be invited to communicate to the German language Scratch community by posting to this thread (only) in English!
Happy Scratching!
