Band Hero DS Soundtrack

Reading the internet, i found that the preliminary tracklist for Band Hero on all systems has been released. While I'm skeptical of the console's soundtrack (YMCA on a Guitar Hero spinoff, honestly) the DS' soundtrack was quite impressive imo.

The Soundtrack:
"All You Need" Sublime
"Believe" The All-American Rejects
"Boots of Chinese Plastic" The Pretenders
"Call Me When You're Sober" Evanescence
"Crazy Little Thing Called Love" Queen
"Excuse Me Mr." No Doubt
"First Date" Blink-182
"Get Free" The Vines
"Girlfriend" Avril Lavigne
"I Predict a Riot" Kaiser Chiefs
"In Too Deep" Sum 41
"Monkey Wrench" Foo Fighters
"No One Knows" Queens of the Stone Age
"Our Truth" Lacuna Coil
"So What" Pink
"Spaceman" The Killers
"Suddenly I See" KT Tunstall
"The Great Escape" Boys Like Girls
"Thnks fr th Mmrs" Fall Out Boy
"Two Princes" Spin Doctors
"You Better Pray" The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

There are still some songs to be announced, but so far this is a promising setlist. The only songs here I really have anything against are "Get Free" and "All You Need". However, the likes of "Monkey Wrench" and "Thnks fr th Mmrs" make this an instant buy for me. The DS version of the game uses the same guitar grip used for the On Tour series, with an additional peripheral for the drums and the DS microphone for singing, so you get the full band.
Yes, this tracklist is mainstream. However, that doesn't make it a bad tracklist. Activision have a target audience, mainly teenagers who the music appeals to, so please, don't flame about how this game sucks because it doesn't involve x band or artist who were finished before this games target audience were even born. At the end of the day, people listen to songs because they sound good, not because the persons voice isnt studio produced. Plus, a song doesnt need multiple guitar solos to be good. Discuss.

Re: Band Hero DS Soundtrack

I prefer the variety of in GH/RB, but this looks like a good game. The drums look fun to play on the DS.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: Band Hero DS Soundtrack

In my opinion, this setlist has a better ratio of good songs to bad songs of any guitar hero game so far.
But then again, thats just my tastes in music coming out, lol.

I think that they're trying to cater to all audiences and all tastes of music.
