This is a website where people share ideas and creative projects, games and art, and animation. It's supposed to be fun. Scratch is NOT a Social Networking site, meaning that all of this drama that has been going around is just pointless, and stresses people out. So everyone, for the sake of my sanity, just please stop lying and pretending and whining to get attention. this isn't what Scratch is about. it's not about making the front page or being popular. It's just about having fun. So just stop it. we've all had enough.

And this 'I quit' nonsense is just silly- people say they want to quit because they don't get enough views, or don't have any friends; obviously they do, and they just want to see how many people feel bad for them. When people 'quit' they have no real intentions of leaving the site. So just cut it out. enough. I'm serious.

Yes this nonsense is quite annoying. I also noticed a recurring pattern. first comes the "I quit forever" project. Then after about 10 minutes, "Well all of these people said I shouldn't quit, so I'll stay." After that, they enjoy themselves a good few hours of publicity, and half the time they do it all over again eventually. The "friends" they add only add them because of that little stunt, and they never become real friends.

Very true, it gets annoying which is why I ignore them which usually ends up with me seeing random boards about "Hacks" and "Not leaving if..." that I don't know about because I missed it altogether from the start smile

In fact I really should clear my freinds list O.o
I added lots of people just because they added me but I don't even know half of them smile

I only add people to my friends list if:

1) They are real-life friends.
2) They are Scratch friends.
3) They have helped me with a problem.
4) They have something that would qualify them as an "acquaintance".

You have to program the animations to make things work in scratch. Other programs don't do that. That means animations are programming.

No need to argue, we have the freedom to do what we want on this site and this includes animation instead of games.
But I really don't want to drown in an argument that goes in a complete circle.

On topic: these quitting projects are annoying, yes. There is no point to them but 'pity' for the user that set them up. 'My life is so hard~ No one's being nice~ I'm quitting~ Nothing will change my mind~'
It's practically copy-and-paste in those projects.
But, it's also easy to ignore.

Besides, just because some people don't put any effort into animation, I DO. I'm not that great of a programmer, animation is all I've got, and I do my best with it. and for the love of God, don't group the people who only draw pictures and thats ALL they do with the HARD WORKING animators of Scratch.

Scratch was ment to teach children the basic skills of programming and to let their creativity flow.
