Ok then it probably is going most of the way there. Is it a big project? If it is have you compressed it?
it's small AND I compressed it
That may be the problem. It's weird, but I've seen it happen before with both flash and scratch projects. Try not compressing it.
It might work, it might not, but it's worth a try.
Well, for about 2 weeks NONE of my projects will upload
I really don't know how compressing is the issue...

that was a really pointless post...
True that. LOLZ

You should try uploading from other computers in your household (if you have any), and with your laptop from a different connection point as P2S suggested, to see if the problem is with your connection.
Do you have a modem/router? When I have problems of such sort, it is often because of my router being glitchy. xP

Are you certain your Internet connection is working? Can you view the scratch website in your browser? Is the computer you're using stripped down or under parental controls? If so, try getting your parents to disable it.

Have you tried unchecking the compress option? Sometimes that helps for some reason with larger projects...

I know when I download/upload things it takes forever if I am using anything else with the internet at the time. I guess you could try closing all other windows, other than that I can't really help. I think I encountered a similar problem once before... but when I retried it worked.
Hope that helps.

1. Check Router.
2. Check Internet Connection.
3. Check Firewall (and similar) software.
4. If it doesn't work, run antivirus. (1% chance of a anti-upload worm (not really))
(Windows)
5. Open cmd.exe and type in ping scratch.mit.edu
6. If you get 3 screens and a summary, that means you can connect to site.
7. I dont have a clue what happens next!

Do you have Scratch 1.4? If not, download Scratch 1.4. If you do have Scratch 1.4, downloading Scratch 1.4 doesn't help, and/or your computer slows down 1.4, try to have Geek Squad fix your computer. Contact a Geek Squad at your local Best Buy store. Hope it helps
. Before you call Geek Squad, check your router, like MyRedNeptune sugessted.

Please don't post questions in someone else's topic. That's against the forum rules. I will repot Scarstar999's post.

Seeing as it's related to the current topic, the post can stay
That way, if say, 10 people have the same problem, we won't get 10 threads appearing, that all say the same thing - that could get confusing, no?

Hmm.. This sounds like what I have in school where the computer can't connect to the Scratch server.
If you have command prompt, try pinging scratch.
The command is something like
/ping scratch.mit.edu
If it fails your computer isn't connecting.pinging?
i think it's tracert scratch.mit.edu. not /ping

Thanks!I have had no problem what-so-ever uploading projects before.
I have not updated my OS since last year
I have Windows XP (not home, not pro)
I'm pretty sure I don't have a proxy, if I do, I don't use it.
A proxy is a computer that functions between a web browser and the internet, sort of like a virtural intermediary. It stores frequently used webpages (like the Scratch website, in my case XD) and improves internet performance. The proxy server provides a frequently-used site in it's collection (AKA cache), and it provides webpages. It also increases and improves your computer's security system, protecting the computer from evil stuff like spyware and viruses. But not everyone has a proxy server, it's mostly companies that require computers that have a proxy server. So it's least likely that you have a proxy server. But still, we have to get answers to solve your problem! Let's keep finding what's going on!
