Ok, I can't take it anymore.
My tablet pen has been broken for about 3 months, and I can't fix it no matter what I do...I've changed the tip, I've changed the pressure settings, but nothing works. The problem is that whenever I put my pen about a centimeter over the touch surface (WITHOUT TOUCHING IT) It selects everything and won't stop selecting. When I try to draw, it keeps the paint tool down so it is just one continuous line. I can't continue to make projects if this continues, because I can't draw with a mouse, it's just too agonizing for me.
Does anyone have any ideas? Or should I just buy a new pen?

My suggestion is to buy a new tablet pen, or you can scan your drawings and then upload and draw over 'em.
My other suggestion is sticking a knife in the 60 second rule's throat.

while I like your idea of brutally murdering the 60 second rule, it's not just pictures I want to use in projects; I'm an animator, it would be too daunting and annoying to scan each costume and get rid of all the extra crud in the background, and then color it. It would be easier to just use a mouse

Hmmm...Have you tried taking the tip out and waiting 24 hours? That seems to work for people I know who have tablets. Or, like FMT said, just use a mouse. It won't kill you.

Get a new pen or find out how to reinstall whatever software your computer might use for the pen input.

Does the tablet have a sensitivity thing, cause that might cause problems if the sensetivity is to high

just buy a new pen then...
but first if you know anyone else with the same tablet try using their pen because it would be bad if you spend the money on a new pen only to find out that the tablet is the one with the problem and you have wasted money.

take it too where you got it from, or go to office max or staples and ask what's wrong
