Just a note to you all.
I've seen plenty of people who are fed up with projects that get on the front page. I just wanted to mention something.
First of all, the Scratch Team have done something to make sure that good projects get on the front page. That's the curator spot. Just a piece of mind to you.
Second, there is the featured row. This normally has good stuff. You may not like what's on there, but the Scratch Team does. So you'll have to argue with them about it. No blaming other users!
Third, think about the projects that get on the front page in the other spots. You may think, "How did that get on!?" Well, here's the answer: It gets on because people like it! People never seem to grasp this. They just think that since they hate a project, everyone else thinks like them. That is not true. But you'll just have to face it: You may hate a project, but 99 others may like it!
You may be upset with me. I'm just reminding you all. Nothing big.

I agree, but still...
I don't think projects saying that someone is quitting, sad, or dying should get on the front page. Most of those projects are just text, maybe some music.

What's the front page? Is that like the home page?
I should try out the other parts of this site too
Too bad my home computer is dead

The Front page is the home page, or the page at www.scratch.mit.edu .
I don't know about my feelings for the front page. want better games up there, but that would defeat the purpose of top loved/viewed if it wasn't the actual top loved project. I guess I just wish that members had better taste in projects.

Most stuff isn't on because people like it, rather, people view certain people's profiles more so those projects get more veiws and love its. I think it would be good if a user could get frontpage just once a month.

Yeah, that's quite annoying. But I'm not so fussed about dying ones; the sick person will want the world to know so people will know that they will not be uploading any more projects. And for quitting ones, they want people to know for the same reason. But sad ones are a bit pathetic, unless you think that someone copied everything you've done (like MaskedStar. I'm only saying 'think' so people won't say "Oh, I'm on 'so-and-so's' side and he isn't; I hate you!").

Yes, it is. Call it whatever you like; they're the same thing.

Yes, often the best games ever aren't on there. But then again, games aren't everything. It's always fun to look at actual 'software' like calculators or simulators.
On front pages, you never will get the best stuff on there (I'm talking about all the time).

You don't get someone on the front page for viewing their profile. That would be for 'featured users', which I think is a bad idea.
There isn't time for all users to get on once a month (if you're being reasonable).

He's got a point, but sometimes it's not really if people like it. Some people get a long streak of popularity, which means that they get on lots and lots of friend lists. Then, whenever they upload a new project, all their friends will see, and, because they're friends, they'll probably put a love it and such.
Result: Instant front page.

Archmage means, that people look in their profile for new projects and just click on their newest project

I understand.
You know, this can be closed. This isn't like a topic where you voice your opinions, it's for reading...

Just for reading? You know that the definition of a forum is "a public meeting or assembly for open discussion ". Post this on a blog if you don't want a response.
