put one in the show an tell aswell, say your making a Text-based version of scratch, and your wanting python programers, and someone who knows how to make a good looking GUI. ill upload some dragons.

My opinion about recoloring to green:

Emeralds are green, and if we're going to make Emerald with Scratch interface, it would be nice to recolor the interface parts to green.

As for sprites, we can use any of them except the Scratch Cat - it's copyrighted (both costumes).

And we need a cool logo...

Search on images.google.com (I think) for Emerald Drawings. Then cooltext.com to make a Text Logo then put them together.

Interesting discussion going on here! Have you guys considered giving the Pygame module a try? It's an excellent and easy to use multi-media library with sprites, collision detection, mouse/keyboard/joystick input, fast blitting etc., and lets you focus on coding games and GUIs in Python instead of having to figure out how to clip rectangles...
