Re: Emerald

the link dont work for me. why not just stop it with the self servers and either, 1. rent some space, OR 2. ask scratch to have a small sub site? since Emerald is supposed to be a text-version?

The second reason would mean we might be able to have access to there upload thing and we Scratchr platform... what do you think about that?

Re: Emerald

Scratch Team doesn't have enough space. 2 TB is not that big if projects are sent from all around the world...

Re: Emerald

I might be able to set up a temporary server for recent changes in Emerald+ Editor and works on both community platforms, like weekdays from 3 or 4 PM to 8 or 9 PM Greenwich Mean Time.

Re: Emerald

I'll have to set it up on a PC that doesnt go to sleep... or change it so that my pc doesnt go to sleep when it's plugged in... GOOD IDEA. Ok, I got back from school and it's uh, my PC is off.

It'll be on until night-ish. Which means nothing, because I bet noone here lives in the same time zone as me.

thanks for trying guys.

Re: Emerald

Erm. There are free hosting places. But they usually stay around for a few months and then....

OH WAIT

How much space would we need.

my old host gave me 10 gb per month free, and 100gb bandwidth.
X10 hosting gives 500mb of space.

and filo, have you heard of "No-IP DUC?"
It's a lot friendlier than 97.somehting.something.something

Re: Emerald

I just found an error in CPPE, when making a program, saving it, and then typing new, and typing open, the open causees STACK OVERFLOW

I dont know what STACK OVERFLOW IS other than it opens an assembler file called chkstk.asm and It's mindless.

Re: Emerald

we could get a donate thing going once V1 is out, then we could start a fund for a server, i can get 1TB for £60, no idea what that is in $'s... but that could really help, couldn't it?

Its is an external USB though...

Re: Emerald

External 1TB for Ł60 (erm, polish keyboard set ^_^')? Where? Don't tell me it's Maplin.

Anyway, this could be helpful, if we only sort things out. Can I be the admin, please? I know all the web stuff...

Re: Emerald

Oh. that's what you're talking about lol.

I that's what you're talking about, I could set up an apache server with 100+ gb of space for free( cpu with 1tb of space, desktop)

I jsut can't test the stuff because whenever I try to go to any of the NOIP stuff or APACHE or ips on my router, it reroutes me if i type it manually. so I would never be able to see it really.

Re: Emerald

The thing is, which person on the team has access to the best setup for the server?

If we don't particulary care if they know how to set it up, because we could tell the person how to set it up, anyone could do it.

They'd have to have a PC that they won't turn off for weeks.

I never turn off my PC unless the power's out or I'm fixing it and need to reboot. Or on vacation...

Emerald Team: I think we should get V1 out before we start making arrangements for a server.

Re: Emerald

Good idea.

*crosses out good server ideas*

oh, btw, new CPPE release. This time, it has a GUI part too. VBemrld.
(yes, you can guess what I coded it in. master of creative naming, I am)

The gui is pretty awsome for 15 minutes

Re: Emerald

Thank you very much.

The development goes quicker when I have less homework and slower when I have more.
I personally can't run diamond on my pc.
So I can't compare VBemrld to it.
