Be specific when naming your thread

This is just a reminder for everyone.

There have been several badly named threads in the Suggestions area, and they aren't very helpful. You don't know what the thread contains, so the odds are smaller that someone will visit it.

If you use specific names, it doesn't only help other users; it helps you too! People are more likely to reply to your thread.

Here are some examples of good and bad names.

Good Names

<shown> or <hidden> blocks
Avatars! (This won't happen, but it's an example.)
A "Tips" section in the forums
Extra space in the construction zone
Show and Hide Lists

Bad Names

An idea I had.
How about this?
A suggestion.
Could you please consider this?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO THIS!!!

There are some other problems...
Suppose the title of your thread would just be too long? Now, now, don't overreact. This can happen, so don't think I'm silly. If this does happen, just try and simplify the title, or if neccessary be un-specific.
But there's plenty of space; you can use up the whole "Subject" section in the "Make New Topic" feature. So don't worry.

Thanks!

Re: Be specific when naming your thread

even though this falls under common sense, some people still do this, so great idea!

Re: Be specific when naming your thread

I agree totally. Something I click on a topic because I think it's about one thing and it's about something else entirely.

Re: Be specific when naming your thread

I see lots of badly named topics! This should get stickied; people need to learn!
