He does look the part...but he wouldn't be able to act like Light, I don't think. Light's a bit of a...mentally ill...person, and Zac Efron looks like he's about to burst into tears, or a hissy fit every time he talks.

I dunno - if Pixar will now be in charge of making an Avengers animated movie, for example, this could be a very positive result.  Or a marvel superhero cartoon from the writers and animators of Kim Possible.

And don't worry about them child-friendlyising everything.

(a) We have already seen Marvel do that in their own movies - for example writing a script that gives a guy whose only significant schtcik is cutting people up with his claws and yet keeping it PG...

b) Thanks to the FCCA comics in the US were child-friendlyised a long time ago and still managed to be big sellers, and only relatively recently have started moving away from that image.

(c) Disney, also own Miramax, the same company that gave us movies such as No Country for Old Men, the Kill Bill flicks, and Gangs of New York.

Disney also owns Touchstone, Bad Robot (LOST), and many more. Maybe it's not really bad, but still, it's some kinda weird to hear that every single entertainment company that counts is being scavenged by six companies (AOL, Disney, News Corp., ABC, ...)
