Server issues in the past few days (Nov 16,2007)

Apologies for the recent website outages and slowness. We are going to start running some deeper analysis of what exactly is causing these problems. We'll keep you updated.

I just wanted to post a topic about that! Some people had computer crashes. I'm glad you noticed it.  smile

Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>

Re: Server issues in the past few days (Nov 16,2007)

I run several scratch clubs and a bunch of my kids projects have disappeared in the last day or so.  Any idea if they will come back?  Also, downloading is not working, you just get a blank screen.  Actually, I did a little more testing and I can see my own projects but not the projects created by the kids in my scratch clubs.  The projects are still there though.  Is this by design?  Are you going to public and private projects?

campsec: no projects should be missing due to the work being performed on the website. Can you tell us more about the missing projects? Name, creator, when was it uploaded, etc? Thanks!

Hi Andres, The projects are still there, I just can't see them unless I am logged in as the scratch club student.  They are the only ones that can see their projects. So, it's not a problem just a change.  thanks, Scott

Megaboy, the message "The website screwed up" is not very useful.  Unless you say exactly what wrong behavior you saw, there is no hope that the team working on the web site can figure out what went wrong.  There have been many problems with the web site lately, so without more information the team will just assume that you ran into one of hte bugs that they have already fixed.

If you can say exactly what went wrong, they can start looking for the problem.

Re: Server issues in the past few days (Nov 16,2007)

I'm searching for battle style games to show my kids what they can do, but none of the links that showed up in the search results work.  It always shows that there is no project found.  Was there some concerted effort to clean up all the violence?

I also experienced a recent problem when trying to post this comment:

"Hey! I just noticed this project got featured! Hooray!"

The comment wouldn't go up and I received a message reminding me to watch my language when posting comments...

Hey peopelz, look at the bottom of the page. Do you see a "show all projects" button? That's the cause of your problems. Click that button and all will disappear!
By the way you have to get out of the Forums to see that button.

Why did you bump this up? It happened nearly a year ago.

Yes, this was last year!  smile  I'm going to close this thread in order to avoid confusion.
