This is poem that I wrote that I hope to have put on the website as a movie and a poem in one. It will be either the 16th or the 17th.
It might take longer if I am going to find a piece of music that suits it. (or I can create one!)
Here is the poem. The project would have the music and the slide show with it.
THE CHEETAH OF THE SKIES
On a nice Saturday morning,
A falcon had chicks under her wing.
The falcons grew up quickly,
And teaching them to fly went slowly.
The mother took off,
Wishing the chicks wouldn’t fall,
In mid flight,
But they might.
As soon as she left the cliff,
A bullet shot through the body, and she lost her lift.
Her limp body was caught by a net below,
And chicks were helpless, and about to be poached.
This story follows a falcon about,
And his name is black spot.
Over the cliff black spot looked,
And then on the cliff, a hand hooked.
The falcon ran away as fast as he can,
And by his ear a bullet rang.
He fluttered his wing in desperate hope,
And at this site, the humans never spoke.
They just aimed the gun at him,
And it hit him in the wing.
He fell down, and was rescued.
And at the vet, the story continues.
After he finished at the vet,
He was taken as a pet.
He was thrown into a cage,
The struggle seemed to take an age.
In the cage he tried to climb to the perch,
And some helpful friends helped him in the search.
The names were Feather, Wing, and Beak.
After a while, feather began to speak.
‘You think you will like it here won’t you?’
To be honest, Black spot didn’t have a clue.
There was food and water,
And he didn’t want that to falter.
The once again, Feather spoke,
‘I want to fly, be free, and for life, have hope.
But it is too late for that,
And for a life out there, the chance will be fat.’
I think we should have an escape plan,
Black spot said, now that he was a welcome part of the clan.
‘We won’t eat food for a week,
And about us, the guests will certainly speak.’
For the sake of their pride,
They will find the vet for the guest side.
When they release us, while they let go of us,
We will all together give them a hard time, and we will escape, just out of trust!
Sure enough, the time came,
But it story goes just the same.
Beak flew into a wall,
And in a cage, he will spend all his life there until he falls.
Wing got caught,
And will be sharing the same fate, Black Spot saw.
He and Feather escaped, and enjoyed the freedom for the rest of the arvo.
And the next morning, they finally stopped the flow.
‘My family as all dead,’
My friend feather said.
‘I am not sure if my brothers and sisters are still alive,’
Black spot said. Then said Feather ‘We can try!’
In the air, the house they lived in was a dot.
They flew for two days non-stop.
When they reached the cliff,
There was certainly nothing to give Black Spot a lift.
On his dead siblings, he found claw marks,
Of an eagle. He wanted to kill him, in one second sharp!
They looked to the east, and to the Grand Canyon.
It was lucky Black Spot had a companion.
The Grand Canyon was hot,
And they were, in the sun, trying not to rot.
Then out of nothing,
An eagle came, and charged into Feather, and sent him, to the canyon below, uselessly fluttering.
Black spot felt a rage, and was coloured with hatred.
He wanted to send this eagle to his deathbed.
He flew at the eagle, which turned around.
Black Spot then went straight at the canyon floor, and the eagle’s death he found.
The eagle had charged after him after he distracted him.
He went into the canyon floor, as his weight was definitely not a skin!
Black spot flew to his companion,
And Feather got up, and said his opinion.
‘If I was not a cage bird, and could survive an accident like this.’
He showed Spot his leg, it look like it had been bent with an open iron fist.
A car came cruising down the road, and suddenly screeched its brakes.
They must have stopped, because they saw the falcons were no fakes.
They took feather to the vet,
And they did the best thing for a seriously injured pet.
The pain of the needle provided a quick screech,
But Feathers life had been beached.
The new owners were kind to Black Spot, and allowed him to be free.
But Black spot wanted to stay with his breed.
His dead friend was a selfless one,
But the fight for a good life had been won.
He preferred his life to be over than a wild bird that, thanks to captivity, was, for his own life, useless.
He gave his life to help his one free and living friend, which was selfless.
He preferred this life to a life in a cage, or as a wild endangered bird.
His shouts of joy for Black spots freedom, Black Spot swore he heard.

If I get more good comments than bad comments, I will upload the project. If not, i will wait a bit.
