Recently, a new branch of scratch has been released, Scratch-Ed. It is used by many educators hoping to teach kids about Scratch and using Scratch to teach other concepts like History or Math. The Scratch-Ed motto is Learn-Share-Connect, as opposed to Imagine-Program-Share. The site has a part where you can share stories, ideas, and learning materials. You create an account and sign in, then you have ascess to all the learning materials you'll need to teach kids about scratch. So far, Scratch-Ed has 243 members around the world, though mostly on the east coast of the US, and many kids that have been taught by Scratch-Ed educators.Interview with The-Whiz
iamrpk: Why did you offer to make the Scratcher Newspaper website?
The-Whiz: Believe it or not, I enjoy coding in HTML and helping Scratch organizations like this out.
iamrpk: Do you think we should move the entire newspaper to the website or not?
The-Whiz: No. I've had bad experiences moving a whole organizations to a separate website, as most people aren't going to go all the way to a different website to get the info they need.
iamrpk: How did you manage to convert the ENTIRE website to HTML?
The-Whiz: HTML isn't actually that hard once you've gotten the hang of it. Text modifiers (bold, italic, underline) are basically just the same but <b> and </b>. And the links aren't much different, nor the images.
iamrpk: What is your favorite feature in the Scratcher Newspaper?
The-Whiz: Probably the news section. It's useful and some things I wouldn't know about except for this.
iamrpk: What is your favorite feature in the Scratcher Newspaper website?
The-Whiz: I like the forums.
iamrpk: What are you looking forward to in later issues?
The-Whiz: I'd like to see some more stories.
iamrpk: Anything else?
The-Whiz: I was wondering how often a new issue is going to come out...PMing on Scratch
Lately, there has been a lot of asking for PMing in Scratch. First it was Staraptor's petition, but it got deleted. Now a new one has been started, but I have a feeling it could be deleted too. The reason? PMing could be used for setting up meetings in real life, or it could be used for sending bad websites to others. I think that some people could be chosen to moderate the PMs. But the Scratch Team still doesn't think it's a good idea.![]()
In Their Own Words: RobotKitty
Greenflash: Hi RobotKitty, I see you have quite a few dragons in your signature. What hooked you?
Robotkitty:Well, I at first disliked these "Dragon eggs" And though they were weird. When I got my first egg, A purple egg, and it hatched I was so excited. That feeling was great so I now continue.
Greenflash: So, which site is the best site, in your opinion, for dragons?
Robotkitty:Well, Dragon cave is probably most simple and and more popular.
Greenflash: Looking at signatures, they're only four dragons in anyone's signature. Is it possible to fit any more?
Robotkitty:Well Greenflash, If you want your codes to work and display the correct information you can only fit 4, If you just want the pictures you can fit 5.
Greenflash: How do you feel about the dragon-posting threads? Too many? Too few? Too crowded?
Robotkitty:Well there is only 3 so not too many, They are great threads and "Dragon egg hatchery" Is probably the most popular. I always chat with my fellow hatcher, Nikkiperson2, On the thread and we keep everyone posted on what dragons/eggs/hatchling we have.
Greenflash: The red hatchling in your signature caught my eye. Can you tell me about your current dragons?
Robotkitty: Well Robotkitty's egg farm (What i like to call my scroll) is currently full of hatchlings. The five 5 hatchlings are all showing signs of maturity, When they grown thier wings. I currently have 5 full-grown dragons ranging from a Albino to a Geode and to a Vine dragon.
Greenflash: What is the one most important thing about owning dragons?
Robotkitty:For most people the most important thing is CLICKS! Well not for me. The most important thing about owning dragons is helping other Eggs/hatchlings in need and keeping your own hatchlings and eggs alive.
Greenflash: Any last thoughts?
Robotkitty:Why not get your own dragon eggs today at the Dragon cave? All About Me Project Reaches Front Page
Stays on front page for six days and counting!
Top Remixed... It's unpredictable. One day it's coloring contests, the next, add your _________ doing _________. But this project has been on the front page for six days. That's almost a week.
More amazing: This project reached third top remixed in two days. Later it climbed from second top remixed to first top remixed. It's fallen back to second now.
We haven't seen many of these projects in top remixed lately. And with 36 remixes... What made this project so popular? The opening graphics are great, so maybe that was a contributing factor. Or maybe this type of "get to know you" projects are fun for remixers.
Or maybe top remixed isn't really as popular as it seems. Unlike featured projects, this one only has one page of comments.Bugs with the front page?
Recently two different projects by the same person have reached positions in top-loved and top-viewed at the same time.
Currently it is DarthPickley that has two on the front page; "Darth Pickley finds the Whitecloud doll" in second top-viewed and "Rainbow Galaxy" in second top-loved.
The Scratch Team has acknowledged this issue, but what will be done about it remains to be seen.FusionFall Game Review
Many cartoon network fans and I have discovered the Fusion Fall MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game). You are testing a time-travel experiment for Dexter when Dee Dee comes along and messes it up. You are sent far into the future where you learn about the evil Fuse who tries to take over the cartoon network universe. You have to get missions from cartoon network characters and defeat fusion monsters with the help of nanos. Then you have to go back to the past and save the world!
When you fight fusion monsters you earn fusion matter, money, and potions. You can use your money to buy equipment, weapons and vehicles to travel around in.
Once you get a certain amount of fusion matter you level up. For every level, you get a nano. Nanos are smaller versions of cartoon network characters that give you special powerups or have special attacks against monsters.
You travel through the places where the shows take place are always getting new missions and exiting new weapons.
This game is a cartoon network dream world mixed up with an action-packed adventure game that only kids would understand. I have had months of fun with this game and love when there are updates. I highly recommend this to any cartoon network fan or any gaming fan at all. Enjoy the cartoon network universe.

Escape to a New Earth (Continued)
Author's Note: Please do not criticize this for the religious content; there will be some cool sci-fi later on![]()
Having translated the rock, Quinn realized that there must have been another righteous family in Noah's day that had escaped the Flood somehow. Perhaps he could find out how if he looked for more rocks...
Looking around the place where he found the first rock, he found several more with the same strange writing on them. Pieced together, they all said:
There was another Noah. He and his family escaped the ancient Flood by the use of a spacecraft, and they traveled to a more habitable planet.
Quinn paused and wondered how the 'other Noah' had managed to build a spacecraft in those days. He looked down and froze when he saw the last line:
As instructed by God, he built another spacecraft and left it on Earth for the Third Noah to use.
Quinn rushed home and told his family about the dream, and about his discovery. Suddenly, on the news came a warning from the Astronomers' Organization, saying that they had found an area of activity in the Sun capable of producing a giant solar flare. The organization also stated that the flare could engulf Earth within a week!
"So this is it," said his father. "The judgment by fire. So, I guess you have one week to find that space whatever-it-is and get out of here."
As he was getting up to leave, Quinn accidentally tripped on a wire that was running across the floor. When he followed it to the end, he found a listening device. Somebody was listening to everything they said!Comics
